Amtrak 50th Anniversary Unit 108 tows Wrecked P42DC 121 to Albany on the MRS! | ALMTrains

- Description: Amtrak Extra 933 was on duty this Thursday tasking Amtrak P42 No. 108 to tow P42 No. 121 to Albany. 121 was recently involved in a grade crossing accident after hitting a stalled semi truck carrying loaded quarry stone. I started in Berlin and then made my way to Windsor where I just barely got him. Finally after waiting until 5pm in West Springfield, I get him at the west end of the CSX WS Yard. I didn’t record an angle of the wrecked 121 but photos of this train can be viewed on my Facebook Page and in the featured thumbnail of this video.

I am happy to report that 121 is back in service and is heading East on the #48 Lakeshore Limited and is paired with Phase II Heritage Unit 130

I hope P42DC 121 gets fixed for normal P42DC units 121 is my second favorite so I hope it gets repaired

I’m happy to report that 121 was repaired and is back in service not to mention that he’s the 2nd engine on 48 tonight (7/6/23)
I saw the 121 just a few days before you saw it on 48, on 7/2/23 it was on the "Berkshire Flyer" from Pittsfield, MA - Albany, NY. I thought there was something about that unit and then I remembered it was in the grade crossing incident on the Vermonter not so long ago. Oddly enough, that same day 108 was headed east as the 3rd unit on 448.
Good news, I found out 121 is back!
He sure is! In fact, he’s on Amtrak 48 that left Chicago last night (P048-05) with Phase II Heritage Unit 130 as the other engine
How was that possible? Her nose was badly damaged and i was (at the time) sure she was gonna be deemed a total loss. But no, im so impressed

@@BLJF101 Yes sir! I was watching the Elkhart Virtual Railfan cam last night for Lakeshore Limited 48 and saw him as the 2nd engine in the consist with Phase II Heritage Unit 130 as the other engine leading the way
