Cool Convention! Looked like a lot of fun! I could not make it this time. Hopefully the next one I will go to. That is the Sandworm from Beetlejuice. All the cosplayers looked great!
Awesome to catch one of your videos again. Super Fun and festive as always! I once hovered over the play button of the movie The Human Centipede but never pushed it lol. Just like "Nope"😂 That is not something I need to see in this lifetime. I never really heard a lot about Terrifier but now I know to avoid that one as well. The movie "Seven" inspired so many members of my family to study to be forensic scientists. It is quite scary to think about the opposite effect of these movies inspiring crafty serial killers. It was nice to hear about your bonding experience watching the Conjuring, also bringing you closer to spirituality. that reminds me of my one grandmother who was a super spiritual horror fan too.
You made a great choice not watching Human Centipede, that is truly the worst one I have ever seen and can't ever get it out of my head. I have never seen Seven before but that is amazing that the impact of the movie caused your family to go in such a cool career path. And yesss, spiritual horror movies are my go to now!
Haha that’s me in the beginning talking to Dan haha forgot to ask you for your TH-cam channel but I said “I’m sure I’ll go on a search hunt to look for it” and found you 😆
@MiaRTV Thank you so very much!! That was my first cosplay in 10 years and that day with all the people I met including yourself was absolutely truly special! Hope I didn't scare ya too much XD that seems to happen when one is all done up heavy with a mask, red eyes dreads and going around saying THERE YOU ARE to many of other people 😂 edit: ALSO now I am JUST realizing - didn't we also have a conversation later on that day talking about Pennhurst?! It was such a wild Saturday that I'm just now putting all of the pieces together!! XD
For me with Horror movies it's a funny story use to be scared of Horror movies Michael Myers, Freddy, Jason, Chucky, Ghostface, Pinhead, and Leatherface freaked me out as a kid. The only horror movies I was able to watch and gravitate towards were the old classic Universal Monsters Dracula, Frankenstein, the Wolfman, The Mummy, The Gill Man from the Creature from the Black Lagoon, the Original King Kong, and silent Horror Movies with Lon Chaney Jr. like Phantom of the Opera and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. They were not gore fest movies more gothic horror atmosphere. Also, they were sad tragic misunderstood characters. As I got older when I was 16, I finally got into Horror movies. October 2009 I finally watched and marathoned every Michael Myers, Freddy, Jason, Chucky movie and my dad showed me lot of other Horror classics making me catch up he showed me The Shining, The Exorcist, The Silence of the Lambs, the Original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Suspiria by Argento, and the first Evil Dead movie and (I met Sam Raimi this year at Monster Mania not this one you went to the one in Cherry Hill NJ.) In college I was president of a Horror and Sic-Fi club. Met a lot of people and learned more about other Horror movies that I had never heard or seen before like Japanese horror movies, Hammer, and George Romero's Night of the Living Dead Zombie movies and the man who started it all with Zombie movies. Life is funny and this is one of them. My Uncle jokes with me how I went from being afraid of Horror movies to loving the genre and going to cons meeting famous horror icons. Nice job on the video keep up the good work glad I helped and inspire you.
In the video you said you're not a gore person. As a kid I use to not like Gore Horror movies know that I'm older I can handle gore horror movies, but it does depend how it's done right not all Horror movies have to be gore to be scary. Some good gore Horror movies I liked were the first two Evil Dead movies, Peter Jackson's Dead Alive, and the recent Abigail movie. Sometimes too much over the top gore cannot make it that interesting or scary sometimes. The original Halloween, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre are examples of how very scary disturbing and suspenseful they are. Anytime I rewatch the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre it still gets under my skin, and again not a gore fest psychological and realistic. The Shining another example psychological and supernatural, isolation, loneliness, and a ghost story.
How did you get into horror movies?
The first Halloween movie is what got me into Horror movies.
I was at Monster Mania Con to meet Kathryn Newton
Thanks for featuring my popcorn box 😁🍿
Monster Mania is always a great time!
