Brilliant video. Would love to see more, keep up the great work! Hugh Dubh O’Neill deserves more recognition, likewise the thousands of others Irishmen and Irishwomen who lived through such a horrendous period in our islands history.
Modern historians reckon that during the course of years between in the 1641 and 1652, over 41% of the population died from war and related famine and diseases. That’s an astonishing number in the context of the population of Ireland. Nearly half.
Cromwell left Ireland after only nine months iirc, he is said to have died due from complications from Malaria which he got in Cork before leaving Ireland. As a Corkman I’m glad we got to give him a good farewell gift.

As a clonmel man this video is brilliant to have on hand ,aswell as bombarding the north wall Cromwell also stationed cannons south west of the town on a large hill to the Waterford side of the town but I think the story goes that those cannons were unable to reach the town walls from the South , the hill now is known as cannon hill it would be the upper hill to where Carey's castle is situated

Great video. A couple of things worth mentioning in it. How the infantry refused to go into the breach again so he sent in his cavalry (dismounted) heavy hand to hand fighting perused before they retreated and the silver bullet story.
    Thanks for the upload.

Cromwell could have been destroyed at Clonmel if anyone could have been bothered to send reinforcements to continue the assault on him after he failed to take the town ..

They got more than they bargained for that day in the kill field. They fired chin shots from cannons which are two canon balls tied together with chains. It would have been a grizzly sight. Took an hour to kill a thousand men.

Careful of those O'Neill's, they're wily.

This is like the Polish uprising against the nazis during world war 2. Clonmel should be proud of their heroic men.

Very informative and something I didn't know before. I will definitely watch more for the content. Well done. I do like the format in general and the images the historical figures however I'm not sure I like all the units having the image of the historical figures perhaps a simple coloured box would suffice for the extra units you want to animate. Overall Great

Are you referring to the infantry? I can have them reduced to something simpler.

You need to get a better mic, but the animations are very good

I wanted to wait to see what people thought first before investing in a better mic. The response seems to be good though so I'll buy a better one soon. Thanks for watching.

Not a better mic, you just need to control the echo or ambience of the room. Have a Google around for tips.
