    Awesome video. Very helpful. My odometer does not show all of the numbers . Like partial if any. But it still works. Would that be a bulb issue?

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      More than likely that is an issue with the LCD display on the odometer. You could replace the whole assembly but I am not sure where the odometer data is stored. I suggest going to a salvage yard and pulling one there to see if replacing it will work. Thank you for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀

    Just replaced the 6 backlighting bulbs on a 06 Hyundai Santa Fe. Used warm white LEDs from Superbrightleds. The original bulbs have green caps. The warm white greatly brightened the cluster improving daytime vision of the gauges. There is confusion as to which bulb fits the 06 Santa Fe. Might be a production date change or body style change. Either way i suspect the 74 or similar bulb like the 2721 are correct. The LEDs that I used will fit either base and are smaller than the body of the 74 bulb.
    74-RHP3: Red
    74-GHP3: Green
    74-WWHP3: Warm White

    Hi Richard...
    First let me say, great instructional videos. I followed your video and fitted LED’s to the dash cluster of my 2001 Santa Fe and then followed another on how to reset the SRS light. I was just reading through some of the comments/questions made on the video concerning the resetting of the SRS Light and the answers you gave and it seems you also changed the globes in the A/C - Heater Control area of the centre console with LED’s on your Santa Fe as well. I am very interested in this and am wondering how you removed the facia to get to them and what LED’s you used (T10 - T3) and any issues you encountered - any thoughts on an instructional video on this. Whilst I have you, have you ever explored the lights in the gear indicator next to the lever itself?
    Regards
    Ken

    Hi Richard! Thanks for this video! I have a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. I am changing the panel lights in mine to pink 😁😆 I did find the correct sizes...how many T5 would i need total in the 2013 Sonata, if you are able to find out by chance? I have had a hard time locating that info. If you cant totally fine,i can just wing it and return extras lol. I just dont wanna take it apart before i buy them. I just wanna do that one time of disassemble/reassemble LOL. 😂 THANKS IN ADVANCE!!! Appreciate your videos!!!!!!!

      You're most welcome. I did own a 2011 Sonata 2.0T Limited and I wish I would have kept it(Great Highway car. Loved it!). Unfortunately I can't take mine apart to have a look at the cluster. The closest I can come is the pictures on an eBay listing here(paid): ebay.us/JPM98B I can see that there are 2 bulb caps and white cover. Please tell me what you find. I'm curious as to if they used standard bulbs or LED in 2013. I may go get one in the salvage yard just to see and maybe make another video. Thank you so much for commenting, watching and the very kind words. I appreciate it greatly. All the best.👍😀

    hi, I replace a bulb on my terracan but had to move my car half way thru the job and now have a airbig light on, do you know howI can reset that ?

  • @kathrynjones30
    @kathrynjones30 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Does the instrument cluster have to be "reset" technology/electronics wise when you remove and reinstall? I know every vehicle may be different but I have a 2003 Volvo XC90 and the instrument cluster is dead. I'm thinking about going to the junk yard to pull one for $26 instead of paying a mechanic $100 for a used one. That savings alone made me wonder if they were trying to get over on me as they wanted to charge $250 - $300 for the labor. So if there's no "reprogramming" that has to take place I'd like to do it myself.

      I just watched this vidoeo on the XC90 instrument cluster th-cam.com/video/ZvSXIM-RWn8/w-d-xo.html and if you read the comments they don't recommend replacing the cluster because the stored mileage for the previous car may become the mileage for your car:"Thanks for the video. I had a little over 100k miles on my Volvo I order one from eBay and it says 200k! How can I make it go back to the original miles ? Is there a way. Crap" the response "Hi Jose. I spoke to our tech and he suggests removing the used DIM and plugging your original DIM back into your vehicle. See if the mileage goes back to the original 100k. If it does, then just get your original module repaired. To check the mileage on your vehicle, go to your local Volvo shop that has access to VIDA. Ask them to scan your CEM to see what mileage is stored on the module. You have to be careful when you buy used DIM off of ebay, especially if the used DIM has higher mileage than your original module. You will risk programming your CEM to the higher mileage stored from the used DIM. This is why our tech suggests repairing your original unit." I can't verify if this is true or not but it is certainly something to consider before plugging in a new cluster from a junked car. Thanks

    Hi there! Would you happen to know what bulb and/or part number is a good fit for 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe? Thank you for your time.

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I know they changed the cluster for the 2006 Santa-Fe so I can't really comment from experience. You could take it apart and have a look at the bulbs and see if they are the same as on the video. Thanks.

    Don't know if Santa fe is different but in the elantra, 74 is to big, the correct one is 2721 Sylvania number.

      I used these Neo Wedge T4 Type B LED At Amazon: amzn.to/2avJ3wz
      Though they worked for me I had to use my Dremel tool to sand down the
      head of the LED to get it to fit so if you buy these understand you
      will have to modify them to get them to fit. Thanks.

    Do you know where I can find directions on 2011 Tucson?
    "D" light burnt out & fuel gauge not working.
    Also, do you know how to do firmware/upgrade (updated) the GPS radio?
    Very nice video. Thank you for taking your time out to share with us.

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't have access to a 2011 Tucson so I can't really comment on the bulb replacement but here is the procedure for the map update th-cam.com/video/aoUwmnWk9Lk/w-d-xo.html Thanks.

    • @angelisone
      @angelisone 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This not right for the owner.
      2011 Tuscon purchased brand new but has 2008 GPS software.
      And to get it updated it will cost over $325.00 from dealership.
      One would think if you buy a brand new model, why do you have to pay when GPS is not up to date.
      But roads and highways have been around for over 30 years.
      That site wants money for upgrade.

    • @richardlloydusa
      @richardlloydusa  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could call Hyundai corporate and explain the situation. I agree with you when you buy a 2011 you should get the 2011 maps. I have a KIA and they wanted $187.00 for the map upgrade, I said screw that and bought a Garmin Nuvi 67LMT 6-Inch GPS Navigator at Amazon: amzn.to/2gFQXnr for $116.99 and I get lifetime map updates and traffic! Problem solved and it works great. All the best.

      +Richard Lloyd same you don't have it. you took such good care of it, my guess it was in an accident and could not be fixed. All those transmissions flushes, it had to be in great shape transmission wise!

      @richardlloydusa  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +kkovler1 It was in excellent condition when we traded it in. My wife wanted an SUV so we traded it in for a KIA Sorento. All I can say is who ever got the car after me got a great running vehicle. I do miss it. Thanks.
