      even a basic smart phone will emulate every console up to psp easy. This set up or one slightly better will do the same. Android still can not emulate ps2 or xbos though and likely never will so long as it runs on a cpu that is not pc like. But every thing prior to should be pretty easy for most hardware running android. I got out all my old ps1 psp and snes games and ripped the roms and played em all on my old rooted and rommed kindle fire hd 8.9. In fact i played so much i had perm marks on the screen from my thumbs :p
      Id bet that the one they built is capable of running a ps1 emu pretty well beyond that might be pushing it to its limits.

    Don't use Amazon for a Raspberry Pi Zero W! Use adafruit, an American company run by Lady Ada. 10$ and an official Raspberry Pi distributor.

    • @nicholascameron446
      @nicholascameron446 6 ปีที่แล้ว +55

      I was thinking that exact thing. Fine if they needed it RIGHT NOW and paid $26 to have one, but don't tell people to follow that example. Pi Zero is $5 and Zero W is $10 plus a little shipping...don't pay $26, you're just supporting a scalper.

    • @Allanon6666

    Raspberry Pi Zero W costs $10 from official resellers. Save an extra $5 and drop the wifi and bluetooth. Or drop the hub and get more USB ports and speed but cost more ($35) for Raspberry Pi 3 with a blinding 1.2Ghz processor. Also has wifi, ethernet, and 4 USB ports. Don't bother with the Pi 1 or 2 because they are slower and the same price.
    Prices quoted don't include SD card or charger.

    1)Which console games can the emulator in question use? (e.g. can I play GBA games on it? PS ges maybe?)

    Amazon Fire TV stick plus Bluetooth controller of choice - you just need to follow an online guide to side load a SNES emulator. Easy peasy! :)

    I literally made one of these a few months ago. You guys should have installed some MAME/Arcade games cause you just push a button for digital quarters to play forever.

    what i want to know is where did they get the ROM files for 857 games lol, and can the retropie on the raspberry pie 3 run more modern console emulators like game boys/cubes, n64 and upto ps2?

  • @goffrd137
    @goffrd137 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I built one of these. Ran an update and it lost a firmware file. Now im struggling to reload the RetroPie image file with my outdated iMac.
    As to ROMs, in general, if you bought the game once you paid for the software license so you are ok. But yeah check out your local laws

    • @ModernRogue
      @ModernRogue  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ethically, I think you're on sound footing, but in many places having previously purchased the game in absolutely no way affords you legal protection.

    You both are half correct with your pronunciation of "Frankenstein"
    Take Jasons "Franken" and Brians "Stein" and it would be perfect. xD

    Brian you can play 7th Guest and other adventure games using SCUMMVM in RetroPie. I would recomend hooking up a keyboard and mouse to play eventhough SCUMMVM does allow for controller controls.

    Important note: Downloading ROM files from random websites (or even sharing them with friends) *is* illegal in most countries (US and Canada included. As they said, check your laws) as it's piracy. Emulating ROM files and dumping them using hardware you own (such as a modded console) is completely legal.
