I always like to think that Paimon isn't real, she is just Lumine/Aether's way of coping with the dissapearance of their sibling and everyone's just being nice. I always treated her as an equal, teasing her as she teased me but never calling her emergency food. I see some people can call her annoying but they never grew up with Amy nagging sonic or Link busting a boomstick out of nowhere to kill navi. Paimon never came across as annoying for me. Diluc though with his edgy , "Better than thou and smarter than thou" persona made me happy Kaeya puts him in his place. So if Paimon goes to goddess form ...someone will have to remind her that mommy dearest didn't exactly show up every time she got hurt.... but we did. Making sure she was okay, despite everything. That and i kinda hope in the game we become the Avatar but roided up. Water, Earth, Fire ,Anemo.... Dark, Light, Thunder. XD

@@Nick-nb2oz Good point. Maybe it would make more sense if everyone we work with is actually part of the “evil” empire, but we’re being shown that they’re human, too. The Hilichurls/Abyss Mages/enemies were people that went against the evil empire and got cursed. Or something like that. There’s obviously lots of plot holes, and I’m not sure what to do with Deinsleif. I would be really interested to read a fanfic of this though. Imagine if Osial was actually a good god, and the Harbingers are aiding Lumine (or whichever sibling got “taken”) in reclaiming Tevyat or something.
So, after a slight trip down a Wikipedia rabbit hole, it turns out that all the archons we know of so far are mentioned in the same book quoted at the beginning of the video.... So, there might actually be some merit to this theory... O_O

My theory is that Paimon is the god of time. I mean think about it, she can literally pause reality whenever she pleases (aka when we bring up her menu lol) and she can skip to any time of the day.
Arcaniaxs dp I know but there was no reason to call it the Paimon menu and have Paimon pop up every time you click it unless it meant something. Plus, have you ever wondered how Paimon ended up in the ocean? My theory is that she was cast out of celestia and fell into the ocean where the Traveler fished her out, and maybe she hit her head and doesn’t remember her real identity anymore. Plus we know that there is a god of time because in the secret island the notes say that Barbatos was good friends with the god of time.
There's an actual video about this theory and I have already watched it. The same video also explains how Paimon can't be the final boss or the unknown god, not only bc she's the mascot, but there are so many settings in her menu that the game would become almost entirely unplayable without them.
Most probably we'll leave paimon. Do you remember lantern rite? The wish paimon made was that she wanted the siblings and her to celebrate it the next year. But remember: aether and lumine are not from this world, they were just about to go back until the unknown god sent them to teyvat. So if the siblings reunite they will probably go back home saying goodbye to paimon
In theory yeah, but since it's so rare that we poke fun at her, in comparison to the immense amount of dialog, most people wouldn't think much of it. Plus for players who's been playing since the beginning, such a feature would punish/reward them for choices made literal years before the end was released

Well, it is undoubtedly clear that Paimon's existence, with her name being from one the demons from the Ars Goetia like the Archons and her outfit matching the style of sustainer of Heavenly Principles' clothes and of Celestia, must have deep connections with the Gods and Celestia itself... Well thankfully on my Main account, when I first had the cutscene with Amber, I didn’t know or follow the Paimon Emergency Food trend, so I said friends. But now I follow it and use every excuse in the game otherwise to use it. _So, if that was the case... am I safe?_
I feel like if paimon becomes a boss it isn't to stop you from getting your sister It's gonna be to stop you from leaving all of the friends you made behind and making a world heartbroken just to move onto another.
You ever consider how nobody ever asks what is Paimon? Every person we meet, from ordinary peasants to the gods themselves just take Paimon for granted. "Oh it's Traveller and the floating one-of-a-kind creature that I have never seen before, that's perfectly mundane". I suspect Paimon has some kind of aura that makes other beings not question Paimon's existence.
Considering that Paimon is a demon name, and all the archons have demon names as well: Baal, Morax, and Barbatos, we can assume that Paimon has a deeper connection to the lore

monogatari uses those conversation scenes for the TV version but not the blue ray cus it saves time on animation well its airing. they are missing in the blue ray version but the animation quality is much higher

@@Corthate yeah they did. Pretty neat trick they use well they work on the blue ray copies. You can find TV vs Blue Ray comparisons on here pretty easily. There is also more stuff in the scenes where they previously used said flash cards

I can hear a scary and angry "Ehe, te nandayo" clearly in my head. Like during their fight, Paimon says to the Traveler, "This is futile, you can never defeat me. So why do you keep fighting?". Traveler who is kneeling on the ground with his/her sword broken, looks up at Paimon and says with a painful yet affectionate smile, "Ehe". Paimon gets even more pissed of and says, "EHEE, TEE NAAANNDAAYYOOOOO!!!" as she proceeds to land the strongest United States of Smash on the poor Traveler and brings down the wrath of celestia upon him.
@@prathameshborchate3542 if this was the story then before the poor traveler gets yeeted the sibling comes with the abyss order and the other sibling stopping paimon and the abyss order (including dainsleif) will stop the sustainer with what they had and the plot twist is they weren't enemies of humanity but they tried to help human arrogation but only some of the people in the abyss order could speak human language and all the others communicate with abyss order language and the prince/princess commands people like dainsleif to keep quiet becuase it will affect the whole continent (Teyvat is only a continent not the entire planet or the entire universe but Teyvat is like Japan or America in real life as everything that will affect more than there country happens there) Then we fight the sustainer while paimon is convinced that they are on our side then we have our whole normal party and our sibling and we could pick 1 element for them but can't change it and after the battle a maxed level lumine with the element of what you picked and you will need to continue your journey to celestia to actually kill the sustainer becuase right now we have only injured her (like that dvalin fight in the start of the game or the childe fight) and now obviously paimon is in god form so she can make us ascend to celestia (as in fly up not have the spirit go to celestia) to challenge the sustainer but before they ascend they went to every city they visisted to give a thanks and have reinforcements (you can pick anybody to be helping you like in the lumine fight from each region) but you cannot pick people who are already in your party then we defeat the sustainer and regain the energy we lost to the sustainer allowing us to travel through any world (paimon is coming too) and they keep there elements then probably be a sequel to genshin

Paimon has always referred to herself in third person. My theory is that she does so because, whether she knows it or not, she is the vessel to a higher force. "Paimon says... She says..." What if she is just like a prophet or messenger of a higher being? Edit: wow I get it that qiqi also does this now
Its really common for kids to refer to themselves in the third person. Often because, thats what parents do when they speak to toddlers. like "mommy will be right back" or w.e. They might have just chosen to do this for the cute factor of paimon in the english translation. sorry lol i know this is a few weeks old but i found it interesting.

Paimon is kinda ditzy, a little annoying, a little entitled, thinks well of herself, is easily angered/offended etc. But shes also really cute and speaks in a way that endears her to people. Paimon most likely chose to speak in this way so that people would forgive some of her behaviors and just sort of find it amusing. Its the same with Venti. Hes a good person but hes also a little shit. His cute and child like appearance, definitely lets him get away with things he otherwise wouldnt be able to, or at least not as easily.

I'm thinking Paimon's cursed to not be remembered, kind of like how Khaenri'ah didn't have a God, it might not be that they didn't have a God, but that their god was erased from history, her memory wiped, but still unable to be killed. Her color scheme reminds me of twilight, and Dainsleif's (the twilight sword's) cape along with all the tiny pieces of resemblance to the statues and the crown, but it's just slightly off like something is not right, the outfit is slanted, or unequal maybe hinting at she's not fully herself or she's unbalanced, she floats around the world meaning she's not exactly tethered to the world in a symbolic sense. It also would make sense why we can't find a record of her from the Dendro area, because the Dendro archon didn't fight in that war. I also want to mention that we never leave Paimon's perspective in storytelling, when the traveler walks off in the Dendro time loop quest, we don't get his perspective, but we get Paimon's perspective until the traveler returns. So, Paimon is telling the story, not Lumine, and not Aether.
I feel like it'd be kind of a disservice to the narrative if it turned out khaenri'ah actually had a god all along. The fact that the mere existence of a nation not managed by a diety was such an offense to the Heavenly Principles that they felt the need to enact genocide on its people really shows just how cruel and tyranical Celestia is. It's a pretty good thematic setup in my opinion I do like the comment you made on Paimon's design though. What really strikes me is that all of the gods in the game are named after demons, and as mentioned in the video, Paimon is named after one too. So I guess thats pretty much a confirmation that Paimon is a god who had her memory wiped, for whatever reasons
Because of people think Paimon is the final boss or a god, imagine this: She's the person who toke your sibling in disguise, waiting for perfect time to reveal her true self and kill you. The only reason she plays along is because she want you to feel happy, to feel accomplished, to face challenges and win over them to have some sense of self esteem before smacking it back down. She allows you to bully her, to taunt her, to harass her but when the time is right, she will make you suffer and beg for mercy as she snaps your world in twine. That or me being a sadistic fuck.

And the whole game menu is the "Paimon" menu, so even outside of the main story she helps. And also, something that I noticed who's more visible in windblume festival Paimon will go with any choice you take, except if it's really a no-no choice. Paimon deserves more love

Lol Also I’ve always found it rather annoying that Mihoyo has Paimon talk for us in literally any given situation rather than just letting the actual protagonists VA’s do their own dialogue. @@CapREX77 I'm very confident it's canon that every Vision user has their own "hammerspace", a sort of pocket dimension they can carry their stuff. You can see hints of it in almost every idle animation where they pull an item out of thin air and then put it back afterwards, and most notably in the Inazuma sword users when they do the "sheathing" move by muscle memory even though they don't need to sheath their blades anymore because ever since they got their Vision they can just "wave it away" into their hammerspace. Said muscle memory is from the years of training their sword skills before acquiring a Vision. And in Eula's trailer she literally summons her blade, so it's not just in game. Also, the adepti (and most likely other gods) can manipulate that subspace to an even greater extent and turn them into permanent structures like Madame Ping's "teapots", and those can even outlast their maker's existence as seen by Guizhong's cloud domains
@@Indian_gae_boiiAlso, you have to press a specific button over and over, and it's the wind Archon's element, and it's just this blast that you're charging up, and basically it's right up against Paimon's attack, and you have to keep pressing the button in order to make it gigantic, and overpower Paimon and kill her (LIKE FAGGON BALL SUPER), and if you don't do it, you die and have to restart the scene, and can't leave the scene once you get there, cuz' everytime you turn off the PS4 (FOR ME)/CPU/XBOX/WHATEVER TF, IT JUST GOES RIGHT BACK TO THAT SCREEN, AND YOU EVENTUALLY, DEPRESSED AS FUCK, END UP KILLING HER LIKE LAMB TO THE SLAUGHTER!!!

I always treated her as an equal, teasing her as she teased me but never calling her emergency food. I see some people can call her annoying but they never grew up with Amy nagging sonic or Link busting a boomstick out of nowhere to kill navi. Paimon never came across as annoying for me. Diluc though with his edgy , "Better than thou and smarter than thou" persona made me happy Kaeya puts him in his place. So if Paimon goes to goddess form ...someone will have to remind her that mommy dearest didn't exactly show up every time she got hurt.... but we did. Making sure she was okay, despite everything. That and i kinda hope in the game we become the Avatar but roided up. Water, Earth, Fire ,Anemo.... Dark, Light, Thunder. XD

You ever consider how nobody ever asks what is Paimon? Every person we meet, from ordinary peasants to the gods themselves just take Paimon for granted. "Oh it's Traveller and the floating one-of-a-kind creature that I have never seen before, that's perfectly mundane". I suspect Paimon has some kind of aura that makes other beings not question Paimon's existence.

monogatari uses those conversation scenes for the TV version but not the blue ray cus it saves time on animation well its airing. they are missing in the blue ray version but the animation quality is much higher

I can hear a scary and angry "Ehe, te nandayo" clearly in my head. Like during their fight, Paimon says to the Traveler, "This is futile, you can never defeat me. So why do you keep fighting?". Traveler who is kneeling on the ground with his/her sword broken, looks up at Paimon and says with a painful yet affectionate smile, "Ehe". Paimon gets even more pissed of and says, "EHEE, TEE NAAANNDAAYYOOOOO!!!" as she proceeds to land the strongest United States of Smash on the poor Traveler and brings down the wrath of celestia upon him.

@@prathameshborchate3542 if this was the story then before the poor traveler gets yeeted the sibling comes with the abyss order and the other sibling stopping paimon and the abyss order (including dainsleif) will stop the sustainer with what they had and the plot twist is they weren't enemies of humanity but they tried to help human arrogation but only some of the people in the abyss order could speak human language and all the others communicate with abyss order language and the prince/princess commands people like dainsleif to keep quiet becuase it will affect the whole continent (Teyvat is only a continent not the entire planet or the entire universe but Teyvat is like Japan or America in real life as everything that will affect more than there country happens there) Then we fight the sustainer while paimon is convinced that they are on our side then we have our whole normal party and our sibling and we could pick 1 element for them but can't change it and after the battle a maxed level lumine with the element of what you picked and you will need to continue your journey to celestia to actually kill the sustainer becuase right now we have only injured her (like that dvalin fight in the start of the game or the childe fight) and now obviously paimon is in god form so she can make us ascend to celestia (as in fly up not have the spirit go to celestia) to challenge the sustainer but before they ascend they went to every city they visisted to give a thanks and have reinforcements (you can pick anybody to be helping you like in the lumine fight from each region) but you cannot pick people who are already in your party then we defeat the sustainer and regain the energy we lost to the sustainer allowing us to travel through any world (paimon is coming too) and they keep there elements then probably be a sequel to genshin

But damn Paimon turning evil would be prolly the most heartbreaking thing ever. Ofc she'll come back and it will be the most heartwarming thing as well. Hope story progresses soon.

Paimon has always referred to herself in third person. My theory is that she does so because, whether she knows it or not, she is the vessel to a higher force. "Paimon says... She says..." What if she is just like a prophet or messenger of a higher being?

Its really common for kids to refer to themselves in the third person. Often because, thats what parents do when they speak to toddlers. like "mommy will be right back" or w.e. They might have just chosen to do this for the cute factor of paimon in the english translation. sorry lol i know this is a few weeks old but i found it interesting.

Paimon is kinda ditzy, a little annoying, a little entitled, thinks well of herself, is easily angered/offended etc. But shes also really cute and speaks in a way that endears her to people. Paimon most likely chose to speak in this way so that people would forgive some of her behaviors and just sort of find it amusing. Its the same with Venti. Hes a good person but hes also a little shit. His cute and child like appearance, definitely lets him get away with things he otherwise wouldnt be able to, or at least not as easily.

As a Honkai player... I saw it coming as soon as a I saw Unknown God and Paimon
I was going to like this comment but I don’t want to be cursed or something
I'm thinking Paimon's cursed to not be remembered, kind of like how Khaenri'ah didn't have a God, it might not be that they didn't have a God, but that their god was erased from history, her memory wiped, but still unable to be killed. Her color scheme reminds me of twilight, and Dainsleif's (the twilight sword's) cape along with all the tiny pieces of resemblance to the statues and the crown, but it's just slightly off like something is not right, the outfit is slanted, or unequal maybe hinting at she's not fully herself or she's unbalanced, she floats around the world meaning she's not exactly tethered to the world in a symbolic sense. It also would make sense why we can't find a record of her from the Dendro area, because the Dendro archon didn't fight in that war.
I also want to mention that we never leave Paimon's perspective in storytelling, when the traveler walks off in the Dendro time loop quest, we don't get his perspective, but we get Paimon's perspective until the traveler returns. So, Paimon is telling the story, not Lumine, and not Aether.
I feel like it'd be kind of a disservice to the narrative if it turned out khaenri'ah actually had a god all along. The fact that the mere existence of a nation not managed by a diety was such an offense to the Heavenly Principles that they felt the need to enact genocide on its people really shows just how cruel and tyranical Celestia is. It's a pretty good thematic setup in my opinion
I do like the comment you made on Paimon's design though. What really strikes me is that all of the gods in the game are named after demons, and as mentioned in the video, Paimon is named after one too. So I guess thats pretty much a confirmation that Paimon is a god who had her memory wiped, for whatever reasons
Because of people think Paimon is the final boss or a god, imagine this:
She's the person who toke your sibling in disguise, waiting for perfect time to reveal her true self and kill you. The only reason she plays along is because she want you to feel happy, to feel accomplished, to face challenges and win over them to have some sense of self esteem before smacking it back down.
She allows you to bully her, to taunt her, to harass her but when the time is right, she will make you suffer and beg for mercy as she snaps your world in twine.

Ok but all jokes aside, paimon is like the most useful character in this game. she literally gives us primogems every time we login the next day, carries all our stuff, does the talking for us, tells us stories to gain information, and is helping us find our lost sibling. If MihoYo were to make her the main antagonist. I'd be heartbroken💔
And the whole game menu is the "Paimon" menu, so even outside of the main story she helps. And also, something that I noticed who's more visible in windblume festival Paimon will go with any choice you take, except if it's really a no-no choice.

@@CapREX77 I'm very confident it's canon that every Vision user has their own "hammerspace", a sort of pocket dimension they can carry their stuff. You can see hints of it in almost every idle animation where they pull an item out of thin air and then put it back afterwards, and most notably in the Inazuma sword users when they do the "sheathing" move by muscle memory even though they don't need to sheath their blades anymore because ever since they got their Vision they can just "wave it away" into their hammerspace. Said muscle memory is from the years of training their sword skills before acquiring a Vision.
And in Eula's trailer she literally summons her blade, so it's not just in game. Also, the adepti (and most likely other gods) can manipulate that subspace to an even greater extent and turn them into permanent structures like Madame Ping's "teapots", and those can even outlast their maker's existence as seen by Guizhong's cloud domains
