I think the thing about Guardian is that you need a good balance of offence and defense to beat it. If you go all-offence you risk dying to the Caltrops effect, all-defence you're going to die to the big attacks.
The closest I've ever come to "Setup Value" was yesterday having Wraith Form, Setup, Well-Laid Plans, and Orange Pellets. Setup the Wraith Form, draw it, hold it at 0 cost with Well-Laid plans, and on the right turn use it plus an attack and skill. Get three intangible for 0 energy with no dex loss! --> Profit! A Win-More play? Perhaps. Worth the time and dead draws? Perhaps not!

The classic Setup Value is Nightmare on 0-energy Wraith Form+, also known as "Win the fight". 12 turns intangibility for 3 or 2 energy.

Does dexterity affect the amount of block that you get from afterimage? Like two or 3 block from cards instead of just 1? Probably not right?
