Thanks for the awesome video for the Gamora costume, sword and makeup. I made the costume for my wife for Halloween and I went as Star Lord. Way fun. Thanks!
Your costume turned out so good!!! And I couldn’t help but giggle when you said you were sewing things inside out and upside down. I had to literally chant “right sides together” the entire time when I was learning to sew xD
I've almost finished my first cosplay prop that I've ever done. it's an original take on the TMNT Casey Jones mask and will be part of my Casey Jones cosplay.
Amazing! I never thought to make a hold place for a prop, strange bc i always think to put functional pouches in my cosplay but not to hold a prop! Always learn something new thank you ♥
I’m going to my first ever comicon on the 5th of August and I’ll be going as gamora, I’ve only recently heard about it and I’m going to be busy between now and then to make a load of stuff, I just hope what I already have goes to plan :0
It hurt my inner machinist ti see one two three blocks used that way. But, at the same time they are handy heavy chunks of steel so good on you for using them and not just having them as paperweights in a toolbox.
I wanted to do the one like what she has in Infinity War, but I got too overwhelmed by all the vinyl. I may do it eventually, but for now I'm doing an easier one with upcycled knit tank tops. I also sew things on the wrong way a lot, and where vinyl doesn't heal, I thought I'd leave that as an optional costume if I have time. I will be referencing this when I make the boots, because that's a challenge. I did decide to use sequins instead of rivets to save time, and they were cheap.
I’m cosplaying Gamora this year and I’m making mine as well, I already have everything else ready, I just need to make the vest. I’m super scared because I’m not good at sewing at all and this seems super hard. Any advice?
It's amazing! I wanna do this too but no idea if I'm skilled enough 😅 I'm mostly scared about body paint. Anybody has any tips for someone who's never used body paint?
Quick questions! Do you have to use barge to glue the belts together or can you use other types of glue as well? And what did you use behind the sword holster to keep it in place? Amazing tutorial BTW!
I planned on cosplaying Gamora for comic con this year, I'm still gonna make this and hopefully wear it to next year's convention. What's the name of the fabric you used for the vest and leggings?
AMAZING VIDEO!! I'm making my own Gamora costume (I'm going to Dallas fan days) I have a few questions :) 1. How much did this all cost? 2. Where did you get your leggings 3. Where did you get your fabric? please respond if you can help! LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!
Actually not a silly question at all Andy as the paint is designed to resist sweating and rubbing etc. You can get commercial body paint removing cream (follow instructions on it and don't just apply and jump in shower lol). You can also make a home made one with the following. Peel a cucumber and cut it into thin circles. Place the cucumber in a small pot on the stove. Add a cup of milk. Heat the milk until it starts to simmer, stir to keep the milk from burning and allow to simmer for 10 minutes. Turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool.
Dip a cotton ball or soft cloth in the milky mixture and rub over the body paint. The body paint will come right off, leaving silky skin behind.
Place a few drops of olive oil onto a cotton ball and wipe over the eye area. Olive oil will not cause problems for even the most sensitive eyes and is an effective body paint remover. Point to remember do NOT put the milk mixture on you when still hot! I've then used cucumber slices left over to put on my eyes after it's all removed as the paint for some reason makes my eyelids feel like hay fever season.
Don't hate your life! And don't be hard on yourself. I've been doing this stuff for 10+ years and have put thousand of hours into improving my work. You'll get there! Enjoy making all the costumes you love. The only person you should be comparing your costumes to is yourself.
I'm try to do this same costume but I am a kid, and I have the clothing size of an 8 year old, so it's freaking impossible!!! It's so funny how I'm attempting to do this though! XD I'm making a "rough draft" vest out of paper that I am measuring around myself as I type and watching this video over and over and over and over and over and over and over (and over) again just to make it as close to perfect as possible. And since I'm not going to a convention with this costume, (I'm going to Disneyland for the Halloween Party) I pretty much just said "screw the sword" XD And that's my month. How's yours? XD If anyone has any tips for me, I need them so feel free to share! ❤️
I can't explain how useful a skill pattern making is.
YESSS! And it's so easy to learn (and cheap to fix if you mess them up a lot like I do)
inside out and upside down! me too! EVERY TIME. fantastic job on the cosplay!

I think i have lost count of the times I have had to do that and you know the one time you don't it ends up the wrong way!
HAHA! YES! So glad i'm not the only one who does this.

Where did you get your tights for arm socks? That are a great colot

Bless the $3 goodwill belts, true cosplay staples
They are THE FREAKING BEST!! I've used them on so many projects now!

Hi! I'm from Brazil and I'm really wondering... Where did you get the sword? I'm trying to make my own Gamora costume as well
Awesome!!!
colored googly eyes??? whaaat, AWESOME.
Hey this is very late but what are the measurements on the black fabric thx
12th! May be a silly question but.... is body paint hard to take off?

Anarchy Antz cool beans, thanks a bunch.
No worries Andy. Actually the cucumber on the eyeballs is great anyway after a long day at a con followed by the late night con partying lol!
I used water based paint so it was super easy to take off!
do you have a problem with the leather ripping at the seams? I am excited to try this, but am hesitant about the longevity of thin faux leather...
I didn't have any issues with the seams ripping!
How did you make the sword???
what materials were used?
I have one question how much money was spent making the power armor build
Great video.... as always!!! Lol
Thank you Kevin!
Whoa I am here before TH-cam started to count the views. oh yeah
I really want to be Gamora but body paint scares me lol
Don't be scared! I was scared too but it's not as bad as you think it is!
This makes me hate my life. I made the exact costume almost the exact same way, and hers turned out so much better. Forget my life!
