3 faux pillow scoop and drags and why I'm doing this...

  • Layering more than one color underneath a faux pillow. Why, you ask? well, let me explain and show you three examples of my method.
Spun on the new mighty, tiny Bäby spinner. (more information all the way down!)
If you enjoy what I'm doing and would like to support me, it could be as easy as clicking the like button, subscribing or even becoming a patreon or a member of my channel:

    Back to the art!
oh wait...you can get access to the FAE Classes next April here
    www.fluidartexperience.com/
    and now, to the art:
    My POURING MEDIUM
Behr Dynasty deep base semi-gloss and minwax polycrylic (roughly 2:1) from Home depot
And thinning to the right consistency with JoSonja gloss varnish (Dick blick, jerrys artsarama or Fluidart.co)
    Paints mixed with my PM:
    Amsterdam- oxide black
This little piggy - lagoon, prehnite and rose
    Matisse - southern ocean blue
fluid-art.co/ for TLP and SUP, Silicone mats, Palette knives etc.
The magic juice/Cell activator is mixed with australian floetrol. (1:1)
    paints added:
    amsterdam- titanium white
    golden HB - deep gold
The wall paint I use for my PILLOW PAINT is Glidden essentials 'white' in eggshell
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------
THE SPINNER I'm using is my own design and creation. Every single work step is done by my hands and my table saw (operated by me)
I sell these on my homepage and if you want to up your game and create on big canvases, you seriously should check it out!
DISCLAIMER: It's a tool for serious artists, I always recommend getting a small , cheaper spinner to try if spinning is your thing first. After you've tried other versions, I promise you'll appreciate this guy over all of them if you work with big heavy canvasses and you spin all the time, like me.
For medium and smaller Canvasses, check out my new tiny and mighty Bäby spinner!

Hi Jessica, I loved all three of your paintings! I'd be over the moon if I could even come close to creating art like you! I screamed no Jessica don't scrape these paintings! Girl, you never listen to me! Lol🤣 The last one is my favorite though and I love watching you create your amazing art. Thanks for another awesome video! You're a talented artist and so generous with sharing your knowledge in your videos. You rock ❣️😊❤

I,m also into liquid art but haven,t figured out how to start with this technique, i can,t get my hands on Behr gloss glidden whatever you guys use. What i can get is just normal latex wallpaint eggshell or something does not exist here i guess . First video of you i see so i,ll have to figure out what you use .But again i,m very inspired, bye👍

I’d say personal preference. The boom gel is tricky because it’s thicker than my regular paints but I can use it straight out of the bottle. And it is super stretchy which I loooove

Hello Jessica. Quick question: did you modify your gold CA after the first pour? If so, could you tell me if you added more paint or more floetrol please? I am doing okay with copper CA but have a helluva time with gold. Thank you. Cool video - your generosity, as always, is much appreciated.

    • @WinterStromArt

I'm not 100% sure but I think I thickened it up a little. I usually for that I add some paint. To make it easier I use a new container, put the extra paint in there and then add the too thin CA slowly to the paint. that way you get less clumps.

@@WinterStromArt Thank you. Having mixed Atelier rich gold (one part) to Ozzie floetrol (1.5 parts) and stirred the bejeebers out of it, it does not run off the stick at all. Same with Pebeo rich gold. They both repel from the sides of the container but I don't see much 'cratering action' on the stir-stick. Will give it a try though. Oh, I just replied to your lovely email from today. Thank you so much love.

Hi Guiletta and welcome! This technique is based in the sheleeart / bloom technique. I have a complete tutorial about my recipe and how it works. I'd recommend watching it. I have all background knowledge packet into it...

This is the 2nd one of these I've seen you do, I was curious if you used a black or colored background if the colors would be more vivid when you scoop and drag them?? This way you don't have to worry about picking up the white pillow.. just a thought..

Hello, wonderful swipes 🥰, I have two questions. Your black 'fake pillow' seems to be a more fluid consistency than your colors. Is this the case ? Secondly, why do you use the boom gels on top of the CA, is it so that the cells hold better ?

    • @WinterStromArt
      @WinterStromArt  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

the boom is of thicker consistency so it surrounds the CA and hols it's shape better. It just has a different effect than my other colors. The faux pillow is basically the same consistency than the other colors. It might tend to be a little thinner it's better than thicker

Good morning from Vancouver Washington! I love my large spinner but its in my garage and it’s pretty cold here. I have a question about the colored pillow. I finally got five pieces i loved the other day and every single one cracked 😱 They were mdf, regular wood and canvas. So today I tried more on tile so i can soak them worst case. Not as bad but still cracked. I was really careful about extra paint. I’m kind of stuck. Should my faux pillow be thinner than the pigments? But still thicker than the cell activator of course. I never get cracking. I’m not new at this and i do absolutely love the effect with your style but damn!!! Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

How do you keep the paint from cracking? Or do you spin most of the paint off?

    • @WinterStromArt
      @WinterStromArt  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yes, that’s what I do. If I leave too much on it will crack. I spun until nothing moves anymore, that can be hard to tell because the paints are so thick.
