In my opinion everything you have had a hand in designing is good. I mean who better to design lock picking tools than an accomplished lock picker. I also think that on some level we are all addicted to lockpicking. I buy things that I definitely don't need I just want them lol
This is the most expertly prepared card set. I absolutely love the strength of them. And utilizing all parts of the card possible. When I saw the micro tension tool i sw another spot for it... On the handles of each pick, where the brand is etched. I am only stuck on where and how to etch the name. But after punching the card it would be amazing to have the pick in a tool box or a pocket/ wallet and be able to push out a tension wrench. It gives the whole kit a further use in a pinch. I'm sure you've seen the tiny UKBumpKeys Nano Mini rake set, in the tiny leather folder - I have one of those. I've ordered a couple of your new credit card pick sets from Wendt, but I'll dismantle mine (the other is a gift for somebody) and put them in a business card holder about the same size as the Nano Mini folder. That will be an awesome little pocket set! Keep up the great design work - love all your ideas :)
I liked the first prototype Carlos reviewed and had a brief discussion with them in the chat. There too they were very responsive. Great to see this collaboration and a very nice result. It's also nice there are holes in the picks. You remember what LPL did with his micro set? Congratulations Ash👍

This may or may not be a silly question, as I furiously clicked on the link to go scoop this baby up, the price listings are all in "pounds" and the delivery time mentioned a couple/few weeks. My querry is if they will ship to "The States" and if it could be a few weeks if your in the "pounds" countries, does that mean I will be waiting months? (which isn't a bad thing, I had just finished a battle with my microwave after a long work day Tuesday evening (I literally cut in a paddlefan pull chain switch out the side of the damn thing cause my family is too impatient to wait for a microswitch to arive), went out to get some fresh air, and in my mailbox was a "TOK" wrench set that I had forgot I even ordered *JACKPOT*!

That looks awesome and I can't wait to get one! I kinda wish it had a good bottom of the keyway tensioner. I use pretty much all ToK unless Im forced to use BoK but I think most pickers tend to start with BoK. For me thought that is pretty much the perfect emergency pick set.

That's an inspiring little set, my only want at thos point wood be a slight inset in the case to hold each respective piece in its original place I know the molding of such a small thing will not out way the price but it wood be really nice to put it back in the wallet looking just as good as wen you took it out 😉 maybe in the next generation 😁 thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge with us and its always a pleasure to watch your work! 🥃cheers🍻

Please don't take my comments as a criticism - I love this thing, and have ordered two of them (I have a nephew who is a locksporter too). My comments were aimed more at what to do once we've cracked the package open, so to speak. The components make a fantastic little pocket set.
I was thinking once broken apart a little dab of rubber cement would probably hold the picks in place on the back of that card or a thin piece of cardboard type material, that way it still keeps that great very thin profile, you can remove picks as needed with no guilt, and rubber cement rubs off completely very easily. So no damage to the tools. I just ordered a set for my wallet but I'm in the states so it will be like a month before I get to see this arrive but I will be trying the rubber cement theory to see if it works. Nice wallet kit!
@@Zieh-Fix Will do, after brain storming I also had an idea to use a very thin kydex sheet(thermo plastic used for knife sheaths and gun holsters) that can be molded with some heat and pressed with foam, so I ordered the thinnest kydex sheet you can get which is . 028 inch thick in a nice blue color similar to the kit LN showed on his video here, for a nice appearance. I am going to try this and if it works out maybe I'll send Ln one if it works out and he wants it.

I have 2 other styles of credit card sets, the one inside the plastic card that never stays together containing a hook, snake, city rake, half diamond, and an almost useless z bar tensioner. And another popout steel set from sparrows that I can't seem to find, that only has one hook, and one rake but has a useful wafer jiggler, and a handcuff key, and a useless pair of combs and something that's supposed to be a wafer pick/knife combination. Thank Tallin as well please. This set is leaps and bounds above the others.

If you laser etched a file pattern on one of the tension wrenches the owner of the new set could remove the flashing left over where the picks were attached. It would be great to see a traction pattern cut into the picks where the finger and thumb make contact. Some cool graphics etched into the picks would be great.
While not nearly as complete a set of tools, Grim cards have a backing that the tools can be stuck back in place. "Tool retention system- one side (black) allows semi permanent adhesion allowing tools to be removed, and used again and again, then put back. I like the new design, you can see that you both know your stuff. What I don't like is that you don't get any "kickback". You both did a better job on this than their paid design team did. Not getting any monetary reward for that sounds a bit cheap on Wendt's side.
@@Zieh-Fix I understand that. But a freelance design team would be paid regardless of sale numbers. Both Tallan Pick and Lock Noob have done the work regardless of potential sale numbers. And there's always the possibility to give monetary compensation in form of percentages of the money made. That would give me the incentive to actually buy one so both Tallan Pick and Lock Noob get their due reward. So far if I buy one of those sets the ones who benefit from that are you alone, which doesn't feel right to me. Don't get me wrong, I don't think that you had any bad intentions or were intentionally exploiting anybody.
Thank you for your concern, genuinely I think that’s very nice of you 🙏 I do want to say though that both Tallan and I went into this project with open eyes and Wendt have been really, really great. I only mentioned the ‘no kickback’ so I was open to you all that this wasn’t a sales pitch. I do get paid for some work I do with companies, sometimes the rewards are different, but I only do things I get pleasure from as ultimately, I’m a hobby picker and to me, opportunities like this are too good to miss! Working with the awesome Tallan Pick was also a big bonus!
@@LockNoob if you're alright with your deal that's the main thing but I do think that a lot of enthusiasts sell themselves short in arrangements like this one. That you're a hobbyist doesn't mean that your knowledge is less valuable than that of professionals and the result certainly isn't priced differently. Not only are knowledgeable people like you getting the short end of the stick very often, that you're doing it for fun and a nice gift backfires for professionals who are unable to compete with those terms, obviously. I see the results too often with friends of mine who are artists who often get approached by companies that expect them to work "for exposure" because hobbyists are willing to. I therefore think that it doesn't matter if you are a hobbyist or a professional, companies ought to pay for what the work done is worth.

All I can say is things are usually more complex than they first appear and in this instance I’m neither being undervalued nor have I taken away the opportunities of others. You might be able to use the 'mini tension tool' with one half of the 'two part tension tool' as a handcuff key.

It's perfect! I have 2 other styles of credit card sets, the one inside the plastic card that never stays together containing a hook, snake, city rake, half diamond, and an almost useless z bar tensioner. And another popout steel set from sparrows that I can't seem to find, that only has one hook, and one rake but has a useful wafer jiggler, and a handcuff key, and a useless pair of combs and something that's supposed to be a wafer pick/knife combination.

If you laser etched a file pattern on one of the tension wrenches the owner of the new set could remove the flashing left over where the picks were attached.
It would be great to see a traction pattern cut into the picks where the finger and thumb make contact. Some cool graphics etched into the picks would be great.

While not nearly as complete a set of tools, Grim cards have a backing that the tools can be stuck back in place.

I like the new design, you can see that you both know your stuff. What I don't like is that you don't get any "kickback". You both did a better job on this than their paid design team did. Not getting any monetary reward for that sounds a bit cheap on Wendt's side.
@@Zieh-Fix I understand that. But a freelance design team would be paid regardless of sale numbers. Both Tallan Pick and Lock Noob have done the work regardless of potential sale numbers. And there's always the possibility to give monetary compensation in form of percentages of the money made. That would give me the incentive to actually buy one so both Tallan Pick and Lock Noob get their due reward. So far if I buy one of those sets the ones who benefit from that are you alone, which doesn't feel right to me.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think that you had any bad intentions or were intentionally exploiting anybody.

Thank you for your concern, genuinely I think that’s very nice of you 🙏 I do want to say though that both Tallan and I went into this project with open eyes and Wendt have been really, really great. I only mentioned the ‘no kickback’ so I was open to you all that this wasn’t a sales pitch. I do get paid for some work I do with companies, sometimes the rewards are different, but I only do things I get pleasure from as ultimately, I’m a hobby picker and to me, opportunities like this are too good to miss! Working with the awesome Tallan Pick was also a big bonus!
@@LockNoob if you're alright with your deal that's the main thing but I do think that a lot of enthusiasts sell themselves short in arrangements like this one. That you're a hobbyist doesn't mean that your knowledge is less valuable than that of professionals and the result certainly isn't priced differently.
Not only are knowledgeable people like you getting the short end of the stick very often, that you're doing it for fun and a nice gift backfires for professionals who are unable to compete with those terms, obviously. I see the results too often with friends of mine who are artists who often get approached by companies that expect them to work "for exposure" because hobbyists are willing to.
I therefore think that it doesn't matter if you are a hobbyist or a professional, companies ought to pay for what the work done is worth.
@@saschaschneider6355 I do understand your point. I also probably made things sound a little more simplistic than they are - I’m a little bit more than a hobbyist after all. All I can say is things are usually more complex than they first appear and in this instance I’m neither being undervalued nor have I taken away the opportunities of others.
