    I was glad to hear someone talking about Terrazzo and quartzite. I am planning on a quartzite countertop and a terrazzo floor in my newly remodeled kitchen. My house is a clinkerbrick 1929 yr old house with a vintage vib throughout. I also plan on a tin backsplash which I have yet to hear about on youtube.

      Terrazzo would be a great floor. I had forgotten about having used tin in an older home. Used it on ceiling and backsplash. What I remember is having to coat it before installing to ensure it didn't rust.

    Am I the only one that thinks my appliances don’t need to be smart? It’s just more crap to break down on you.

      Anyone over 35 feels the same way you do. Younger people grew up with 'smart' so they are accustomed to it.

    I enjoyed your video. Are dark brown lower cabinets and a dark brown kitchen island and white upper cabinets too stark a difference in color? This is for an open concept kitchen. Thank you for your help.

      I'm not the website owner but I've seen in a honolulu condo darker lower cabinets (grain going vertically) with a lighter wood upper cabinet (pulling from otherlight wood tones in the room grain going horizontally divided by a light warm beige or golden counter top. Looks great. (This one had a mosaic backsplash pulling from the outdoor colors and sunrise/sunset colors).

      It could be OK if your counter tops were white. For an open concept you have to decide what your furniture, especially sofa & chair colors are going to be so they match the theme of the whole room. Your bar stools and kitchen window/door toppers/drapes could also match the furniture bringing those colors into the kitchen as well.

      I remember the copper, green and yellow appliances....I had copper stove with rotisserie above it, a copper fridge and dishwasher.... Sofa was green and furniture was darker walnut. Fireplace was grey stone...Don't remember color of broadloom. Probably beige..

    We are in the process of redoing parts of our kitchen due to a leak. What are tips on not being able to match our island quartz countertop with the countertops that have to be replaced? Ideas for backsplash area that is not tile? Thank you so much.

    • @mandrews1245
      @mandrews1245 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I have used 5 items as backsplash which were not tile. 1) quartz, which matched or contrasted the counter. 2) stainless steel. 3) the wall painted in a different color and I stencilled the names of different herbs putting in randomly the names of my kids and grandchildren. Years ago I used mirror, and also stones but I'm not sure either are still in style.

    This video offers a comprehensive overview of the upcoming kitchen design trends for 2025! I'm particularly excited about the integration of smart technology and sustainable materials. The idea of multifunctional islands is also intriguing-it's amazing how design can enhance both functionality and aesthetics. I'm curious, which trend do you think will have the most significant impact on kitchen designs in the next few years?
