- Here is classipop composer Mary Bichner's vocal-and-string-quartet arrangement of Animal Collective's "Mercury Man", from their 2012 album, Centipede Hz.
Unlike the typical string quartet line-up (2 violins/1 viola/1 cello), was arranged for double-viola string quartet (1 violin/2 violas/1 cello), creating a rich, warm musical palette with unique low harmonies not possible in a typical quartet.
Performed by Mary Bichner (vocals), the amazing Triple Strung Trio (Yu-Wen Chen: violin, Christopher McClain: viola, Nick Dinnerstein: cello) and special guest. Arranged by Mary Bichner. Audio recorded, mixed and mastered by the radtastic Ariel Bernstein.
