I love the walking dead and the last of us but let's be real here. The infected In the last of us are allllooooootttttt worse than the walking dead ones. And I would assume that joel could easily take on ricks group. The only problem he'll have is dealing with rick, Daryl, michonne, and that shemus looking guy.
Rick was weak then. He wasn't fully ready to fight Shane, plus he wasn't a full on survivalist like he is in season 5. And when he fought the Governor, he was weakened by the time of peace they had at the prison. Hershel tried to turn him into a farmer. That's why I said season 5 Rick. He's a changed man and he would do anything to protect his people, even fight to death with Joel. I'm not saying he'll win. I'm just saying it would be a brutal ass fight considering neither would be willing to give up.

He killed 100 + people and about 30 runners, 20 clickers and like 7 bloaters in his entire journey to the Fire Flies, scrambling around with arts and craft to create make shift toys that'll kill anything on sight.
