  • We look at what to do with your bonsai as we head into Spring, which includes assessing the stage of development the bonsai is in and setting appropriate goals. Pruning, wiring, fertilising and positioning are all discussed and there is an overview of the management of Japanese Black Pines and Junipers. The end of winter is a really important time to make decisions and take action with your bonsai and this is a practical and thorough demonstration.

Superb teaching methods Sir. Understanding why you do things like 3 turns before you start the second, makes sense. Thanks from Canada, heading into winter now.

Very informative. Learnt a lot from this video. Especially appreciated the root aeration trick, as well as the pine candle breaking calendar. Still hope you share your radiata pine secrets at some point. A lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks Scott

I see some upper branches are thicker than lower. Is there a technique for force thickening the lower branches? --- also are you able to film in a resolution above 480p - my old eyes are having trouble with blurring -- 10 cm test is useful
