    Falcons Fans, your HC admitted that he kept 36yr old Kirk Cosusins in that game because he didn't want to mess up his 3* interception 0 TD return to Minnesota. And of course Arron Freeman agrees, all of last year he was up Ridder's ass.

    Disagree...Penix was the 8th pick of the draft. The 8th pick of the draft is going into any situation that's not setup just right but they are supposed to be the difference makers.

    Completely disagree with your thoughts about having to wait till 2026 for Penix. If your QB needs everything to basically be perfect to be a good QB then the QB is not good. Look at the Patriots Drake Maye has a terrible situation but him alone is keeping that team in games and has won some.

    I'm a University of Washington alumnus. I've watched EVERY UW QB since Sixkiller. Michael Penix has the most arm talent of any Husky QB all time. This includes NFL QB's Hugh Millen, Jake Locker, Damon and Brock Huard, Billie Joe Herbert, Marques Tuiasospo, ex Falcon Chris Chandler, AND Mark BRUNELL, AND Yellow Jacket owner WARREN MOON. Just saying.

      @@deecrawford9983 protection will be a lot less of an issue with Penix back there. McGary’s the weak link but the O line is above average. Just chip his blindside. Penix has a much faster release and he’s like 3 times as mobile

    • @abyxis
      @abyxis 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Not at all… nobody said that. Just that if your plan was to ride the long game with Penix, they likely shouldn’t just shoehorn him in now. They likely didn’t plan for him to play this year as the starter. Let him get the off-season, ge the full starter training, reps and have a fresh low pressure start next season. Not “fix the season or everyone will hate you and we are on a 4 game skid”

      Benching Kirk is NOT gonna make a difference. The Falcons still aren’t win games until they clean up the penalties once and for all (12 penalties for 127 yards vs Vikings!!!) and fix the inconsistent defense. And Penix would provide a spark?? Wrong!! Kirk’s teammates and coach are behind him. Who would the guys rather follow? Captain Kirk or Sulu??

  • @jamesabc372
    @jamesabc372 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    Penix is ready now. He is a mature QB that is a pocket passer with some mobility in the pocket and able to make pre and post snap reads! What more do you need to see. He's not a baby! Kirk is making rookie mistakes! The biggest problem the receivers will have is getting used to catch passes on time and accurate!😭😮😅😊

    That's why this whole thing didn't make any sense to me; you're in win now mode, but you're also building for a future that there's no guarantee YOU'LL be here to see????
    And honestly, what would a division title and playoff game really mean? Cuz we all know that they're gonna get embarrassed at home in front of the world.

  • @mylesmerritt5894

    Im pretty sure right now is the PERFECT time for penix to start. The raiders suck. Their defense is not good. Benching kirk might actually help him settle down and reevaluate himself. Kirk's pocket presence is non existent. He seems timid and always hesitant. Why do you think coaches sub out starting qbs in game when their struggling? Penix can possibly create the necessary spark needed. Kirk LEADS THE LEAGUE in turnovers; interceptions and fumbles alike. Obviously, kirk isn't the answer right now. And waiting one more week is absolutely stupid, in my opinion. Essentially, what i got from aaron is that we should wait until the season is irredeemable to start penix. ABSOLUTELY NOT. We all knew that kirk was gonna start against the vikings, but i believe we waited way too long to bench him. Kirk is not contributing to anything and is actively losing you games. Sure, the defense was horrid against the vikings but they played perfectly against the chargers and we STILL LOST. Penix needs to start against the raiders to not only get acclamated to the game, but also to provide some sort of spark and hope to revive the season. Also, penix is a mature qb. He's not some 21 year old kid. You're acting like he needs development for a few years in order to be ready. How is one of your points "still have a shot at the playoffs" but waiting for kirk to fail us one more time is necessary for penix to start? Waiting for one more loss is so stupid to me

    I do hope Mike pans out. Nothing against either player and coach has good ideas and I trust his take on the state of QB; we as fans have to trust the coach. Atlanta has never really been a 'nurturing' enviroment. We do have a good running game and that does relieve pressure. It's those darned decisions that are made before throwing that to me is the key to the whole deal.

They might adapt at a turtles pace and Raheem has some questionable press conference quotes but at least they are trying to adapt.

  • @bryanjones4444
    @bryanjones4444 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    I wonder if the Falcons, who were supposed to have an easy schedule, have actually had the toughest schedule of anyone in the NFL so far.
    There are plenty of reasons to stay with Kirk. He is currently second in the league in yards and about to break his own record of the most receptions to 4 different receivers in a season. If Pitts can just get open and catch a pass once in a while he will also break the record for most receptions by 5 different receivers. Cousins is the highest rated passer ever when throwing to tight ends and his tight end last year was on a pace to get 114 receptions when Kirk was injured. He had a terrible game last week against the Chargers but outside of that game Cousins is not the problem.

    • @Gooey1802
      @Gooey1802 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yea some of the receivers need to do a better job of fighting for the ball but do you think they’re losing faith in Kirk and his play? Also Kirk missed plenty of wide open receivers the last 4 games

    • @jamalstrickland1
      @jamalstrickland1 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I couldn’t disagree more. Cousins has two GLARING issues that are hurting the team, outside of leading the league turnovers
      1. He has ZERO mobility. Inside the pocket. Outside the pocket. He has ZERO RUSHING YARDS through 13 weeks. That’s almost impressive. But the effect of that is whenever there’s good coverage, the play is dead. LBs are getting 20 yards of depth in zones because they know he’s never scrambling. Also, it hinders the play calling because he needs extra protection even against 5 man fronts (they keep Pitts and Bijan in to block far too often).
      2. His arm talent has dwindled. He still has some touch, but he can’t even seem to throw unless his feet are fully set. Also, against LAC, he was the only QB in history to throw 20+ times with no throw faster than 30 mph according to next gen. Thats an issue.
      This combination creates a very small margin for error for the whole offense. Even Kirk at his best this season has produced LONG, 8,9,10,12 play drives.

    • @Paula-mv8im
      @Paula-mv8im 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Ah...another voice of sanity like me. The Falcons have had a crazy amount of penalties that killed drives plus you got growing pains of new OC. The there's the inconsistent defense that allows 35+ points in some games and only 17 points in other games.
      Other than the 4 INTs...the Falcons’ offense (and Kirk) DOMINATED the game against the Chargers.
      1) time of possession: 36 min to 24 min
      2) first downs: 24 to the Chargers 10
      3) the Falcons were: 2 of 4 on fourth downs to the Chargers 0 of 1 on 4th downs
      4) Total net yards: 350 to 187
      5) Net rushing yards: 116 to 56
      6) Net yards passing: 245 to 150
      7) no offensive penalties…AT ALL
      8) only ONE 3 and out
      9) mostly long drives
      So it’s not like the defense is on the field the whole time because the offense is going 3 and out on every play. It would be interesting to see how many end zone passes that Kirk actually had and what happened with each one. I will never understand how people think that a quarterback is in a vacuum. Everyone on the offense has to do their job to score points.
      Kirk throws to a certain spot on the field and expects his receivers to run the correct route and be where they are supposed to be. Watch his throws...that ball is leaving his hand before his receiver has even gotten to the spot. Pitts has had an issue with stopping on his routes and catching accurate balls. So, what looks like a bad throw really isn’t one.

    • @Paula-mv8im
      @Paula-mv8im 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Gooey1802 No I don't. In every interview I have ever seen, players say "what do I need to do better?". It may look to us like they are wide open but they are probably not. Watch Kurt Warner's videos sometime. A guy' will be so far away but Kurt is like ....that receiver is covered. Probably because by the time the QB throws the ball, he makes up that space and can intercept the ball.

    • @Paula-mv8im
      @Paula-mv8im 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@jamalstrickland1 1) Zero mobility? Are you even watching the games?? He had a 16 scramble (actual 22 yards because yards behind the line of scrimmage don’t count) vs the Buccaneers in week 8 and a 17 yard run for a 1st down that got negated because of a penalty (2nd quarter - 0:36 minutes left) in the Vikings’ game. And what would you call him running off after he passes the ball to a running back…standing still??? He also scrambled out of the pocket in the Steeler’s game for a TD throw. News flash…every team has their RB and TE block. WR receivers block as well.
      2) “His arm talent has dwindled.” You’re seeing what you want to see. Kirk was zipping balls the whole game on Sunday. Besides that, Kirk is throwing the ball 30+ yards. He couldn’t do that if he had no arm strength…smh. Did you not see the Cowboys game where he threw the ball with only one foot on the ground because of an unblocked defender?? And 8-12 play drives are pretty normal. You’re entitled to your opinion, but it has no basis in reality.

    Let's not act like Penix isn't Mobile...... With him it gives us the option to FINALLY HAVE A QB THAT CAN EXTEEEEEEEEND PLAYS by moving out of the pocket or roll out. Penix opens up our entire offense. Everyone will get open..... Penix is a prime Kirk on steroids times two. This why they hide him. This is why he only played one series in preseason. This is why he only threw twice in the Denver game and with 8.40 left in the 4th they made him stop throwing the ball. His first pass was a 15 yard dime for a first down. Second pass was a 40 yard bomb that hit Washington in the hands deep and he knocked himself out trying to pull the ball in...... Kirk sucks and he was your guy from the jump. Should have got Russel Wilson or Andy Dalton for a year for Penix to set. You don't sign a 36 year old hurt QB that is 1-4 in the playoffs and give him 180mill

    No offense, but you are delusional. If you think that not making a quarterback change at this point in the season is the best move. We have a guy that hasn't thrown a touchdown in 4 weeks but he's thrown eight pics. He leads the league in interceptions and it's not like his interceptions are coming from pressure. He's throwing interceptions from a clean pocket and he's making bad decisions, which is something he shouldn't be doing for how long he's played in the NFL. No, he's not the only reason that we've been losing but he was brought in to cancel out some of the other deficiencies that we have as a team which he's not doing. I said it back when we were four and two that I wasn't sold on him being the quarterback and it's shown over the season because he's only had good games against terrible defenses. Carolina Tampa twice and Dallas against everybody else. He's been mediocre. He have have a good fourth quarter against the eagles. It's time to make a change because it feels like the rest of the team is starting to lose faith in the coaching staff as well
