It's been about 12 years since I filmed this. I have 14 and 12 year old daughters now and my youngest just found and watched this.
Just wanted to say thanks to all of you for watching, and for your comments. I hope some of you dealing with this in real life have been able to find some value or camaraderie in it.
    💪❤

I saw a video the other day where the wife was 31, pregnant with her first baby, and newly diagnosed. I read later that she had the baby, and her parents and husband are raising it. You probably guessed that she wasn’t able to raise it because she was too bad by the time the baby was born. Actually, she was around for a short while, but died by the time her little girl was 15 months old.

I saved this film, but couldn't bring myself to watch it till now. Mom is in her 7th year of living with Alzheimer's. And though she's now 81 years old, I know well that Alzheimer's can strike ANYONE, at any age. It's a horrible, horrible disease. But I know my Mom is still "in there", somewhere in that mental tangle that is Alzheimer's. Thanks to the film makers and actors for this.

What a sad story. What beautiful music. Dementia (Alzheimer's) is a cruel disease for all involved. Caregivers need all the help we can get as we can get physically, emotionally, and mentally ill from the pure stress of it. Thank you for this video! May we find a cure soon!

I visited my late aunt in a nursing home. She was fine mentally but physically in bad shape. Unfortunately, the only room they had for her initially was on the secure Elzheimers floor. She hated it. I could not believe it when I visited. Elderly people strapped into wheelchairs just staring at the walls. I do not want to end my days like that!

I’ve been a live in caretaker since 2019, but my grandma also passed with dementia a couple years ago, so I’ve been on both sides of the fence witnessing it from a family perspective & non family caretaker perspective.
This guy did a great job of portraying a day of dementia. They die before they’re dead & that’s the hardest part for the human mind to cope with. You have random moments or days where they seem to light up, but then they don’t even understand how they’re feeling when they do & it’s doesn’t sustain itself.

I visited my grandpa at the asylum today, he has alzheimer. He hasn't seen my dad for 6 years. He began crying when we wanted to go, he said that he wants to go home so he can always see us. He was still crying when we went while looking at us. I just can't. it broke my heart. i want to stay with him forever. i don't want him to die in an asylum.

although not everyone can take care of the afflicted at home, it, putting them in a care facility is the worst. A nurse told us they will either die or degenerate very quickly. . they need familiar surroundings. But thats life. we the caregivers need a life too...I dont have much of one...my sisters and I help look after my mother who has has alzheimers. Its been almost 20 years. Its hell...when the doctor told us, it could last from 12-20 years I couldnt believe it!

My mother had Alzheimers for 2 years before she died. When she was diagnosed, her doctor suggested a book for the family to read that was extremely helpful to understand how to relate to her and this disease. If anyone is interested it's "The 36 Hour Day" by Nancy Mace. Great short film btw.

I got tested at 55. I was in the first stage of Dementia. My psychologist said he had never had someone just walk in his door and ask for the tests. He wrote a 6 page report. My husband came with me because I asked him to. He DID NOT read the report. I am now in mid stage of Dementia. My husband will not do anything to learn about it. he told me after the analysis at 55 if I would just slow down I would be ok. I lose my keys, cell phone, I try to retrace everything to find items I just laid down somewhere. Its very hard living a life your husband does not believe you have. I am so grateful to my circle of Dr's that aid and assist me. i was not muslim and I visited a Mosque. Even they have sisters of the Mosque to call me. One girl says I am her American Mom. Again so blessed that strangers took me in and show love and understanding for me.

Thank you everyone for your kindness. Just lost my doctor after 18 years. He is going into wound care. He was tired of having to be living by a clock. The good part we can now be friends😊 now I have to train a new doctor. Most just want to give you the newest pill or treatment. Well they hit a wall they did not see coming. People with medical backgrounds (or I do) don't like having someone telling you to do this because he says so. I don't take that well. In fact neurologist and I had quite go round. If you don't stand up for yourself people will make you take the new pill or a new treatment.

I just finished listening to Everywhere at the End of Time, a six album masterpiece that creates music and ambient soundscapes of the progression of dementia. Alzheimers is the most terrifying thing on earth if it progresses anything like that project did. The paintings that went with each of the six albums are just as unsettling and sad. My ex mother in law died of this disease. Nothing is more frightening than losing all your memories and the person you used to be.

Thank you for posting. The cruel harsh reality of being this young is you will not get any help. My brother in law was diagnosed 10 years ago. A month ago he took a turn for the worst. He is 51 and in the final stages. He does not know his wife or daughter. He is a danger to himself now. My sister goes to work all week wondering if he will wander off or set the house on fire. We have all searched for an organization that will either help or take him. We have been turned down by everyone because of his age. I guess it's just not serious unless your 65 or older.

There are more and more younger people getting early onset dementia. There has to be an environmental cause to this, something we aren’t being told. We get told Oh it’s just because we record and treat cases better and we are more aware now but far more younger people are being diagnosed than ever were before. WHY?? Governments aren’t telling us everything. Something is in the environment, the foods, the water, there has to be a reason for this.

The ignorance is that this is an old person's disease when in fact it is not, young people develop this every single day, doctors have to be better educated in early onset AD!

+MelonHoly AD can develop in young individuals as well, though extremely improbable there has been reported cases of AD in persons as young as 30 years old. It is known as "Early-Onset Alzheimer".
Familiar Alzheimer can also cause early Alzheimer due to a dominant autosomal inheritance associated with defective genes that codify certain proteins involved in b-amyloid production and protection against b-amyloid plaques

+Springhill Care Group, is this just a synapsis of a movie or is it just a short film?

I don't know who Springhill care group is :) But, this is all there is. It is a short film made about 6 or 7 years ago. It was for an online short film competition.

Normal is just a cycle on the washer machine ~ Whoopi Goldberg. I love this quote! My mother has Alzheimer's disease; I adopted this quote as the disease progressed. Check out the following video: MamaIsStillHere!

Hey, there. It is a fictional short film. Not true other than loosely based on the idea of very early onset Alzheimer's disease 👍

Thank you for this video and the truth and honesty in it. Alzheimer's is truly a heartbreaking disease. My Mother in law has passed from it, and our family will never be the same.

Howdy 👋 It is a short film shot some 12 years ago, now. That's the whole thing. Nothing more to see here 😄
