You're actually the reason I ever bought a Burda Style magazine. I agree that the Easy version is better all around in terms of the graphics. I suppose Burda Style is more for the advanced-ish sewer who doesn't worry about instructions or seam allowances. This is a great comparison between the two - thanks!
I was impressed at the first time by Burda style but the fitting is so fabulous , and I love so much the garnements so it s worth to try even if you don t sew 🧵 for 10 years , burda easy is very basic , this is a nice way to dive into the burda world
I prefer the Burda easy because burdastyle patterns are next to impossible to find and Trace although they have some really nice patterns with some nice Style. I gave up on burdastyle a long time ago trying to trace the patterns
I do sometimes really like the designs in. Burrda Style, but I agree that the pattern sheets can be chaotic and intimidating. Burda Easy makes its, well...easy! ☺️
When I want to make a Burda Style pattern from the magazine, I just purchase the pattern as a PDF from their website. The patterns are $5.99 and it's just not worth trying to trace off the overlapping patterns. Burda Style patterns are very well-drafted, but the instructions are useless. You need to understand how to construct it on your own (definitely not for beginners).
I think buying the patterns you want is a good idea. The magazine is so expensive, yet I still enjoy flipping through it even though I haven't still traced off a pattern 😮
Coincidentally, my subscription to Burda Style expired and I decided to switch to Burda Easy too! I believe 5/2020 is the fifth issue of the year as opposed to May issue?
How about plus sizes? I know that in Burda Style only a handful of the designs are available for us slightly larger ladies. What about Burda Easy sizing?
Thank you! I should have mentioned the sizing in my video. Burda Easy doesn't include plus sized patterns, and it appears the sizing is limited (European 34-44). Also worth noting, Burda Style also offered kids patterns and Burda Easy does not.
@@SewcalSewcialite Thanks. I’ve just discovered that there is Burda Plus which comes out twice a year and something called Burda Extra which seems to have smaller and larger sizes as well as the middle range. Anyway I hadn’t heard of Burda Easy so thanks for the video - most useful. I’m skilled enough to add a few inches at the fold line or centre seam if it’s an easy pattern.
Burdastyle magazine is shame....the paper quality, you really proud of your patterns? (And the styles at a glance page...all the styles became too small and no fun to watch, they changed it some years ago, sacrificing too much space for company information, names etc.). Use Washi-however thin it would be it always be strong and of lovely quality!
I had no idea there was a Burda Easy as I haven’t looked at their magazine in ages. Thanks so much for the comparison!

Thank you, Jen ❤️ I forgot to mention the seam allowances. I definitely feel the Birds Style version is for more advanced sewists 🧵
I just double checked, and Burda Easy doesn't have seam allowances either
I’m a new sewist I think this will be perfect to help me get started!! Thanks so much!!!
I agree, I think it will be helpful. Thank you for watching 🧵☺️

Informative comparison, thank you.

I really appreciated this video!
Thank you! ☺️
Thanks for shearing
I think the reason Burda easy is a liitle more expensive is that it has less advertising. Also it is every other month so subscribers can take it.
I agree with your thoughts. Burda Easy definitely has a lot less advertising.

Hmmm maybe it is the 5th issue? I'm not sure, but I can see how that would make sense. How are you liking Burda Easy?
@@SewcalSewcialite I’ve only just received the same issue as you (5/2020) so yet to try any of the patterns but looking forward to having a go.
