    An interesting proposal, considering that, if the aircraft is ever found, it's very likely the cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder won't be enough to solve the mystery. Since they considered both pressure and water salinity, I guess the only thing that could complicate this operation would be the impact damage on the cellphones, depending on how the airliner crashed. Hopefully this can help experts undertand the sequence of events that took place on MH370.

    If the plane is finally located and passenger cellphones are retrieved amongst the aircraft wreckage, as it's been almost 8 years since Flight MH370 mysteriously disappeared, presumably the length of time will cause further cellphone damage. Could this extended delay in finding the aircraft mean that any data stored will now be completely damaged and therefore irretrievable?

    When flying always carry with you a protective waterproof box just big enough to fit your cell phone. Teather it to your body. In addition carry an emergency locator beacon that sailors attach to their life vests and activate when they become wet. In the case of impending doom, pre-activate your ACR or Bivy stick so that your latitude and longitude are broadcast to the satellite before you hit the water. Since the signals are weak sit next to the window else the signal may not penetrate the thick aluminum skin of the aircraft, (not needed in a Boeing Dreamliner.) Assuming you ditch and actually get out into the water, having an ACR might help you and your fellow passengers. Even if rescue is late in coming there is still a good chance that searchers will find something.

    well, yes, but at one point the passengers of flight MH370 knew that something is wrong so they might have sent SMS messages to their friends and relatives. Since they found a flap part of the wing at a beach of Reunion they should measure the current of the Indian ocean and in this way find the location from where exactly that wing part was coming.

    Okay cool. So all we have to do is hope the plane crashed and the phones survived the wreckage and landed in a Chemical Facility that has those chemicals ready to go. You know, before the phone corrodes from being in the Ocean for 4 years. Gotcha, fingers crossed!

    I don't get it. When an entire plane is missing, you people are doing experiments on recovering a phone from ocean floor and collecting data from it.

    How about AirTags if they have been inside the passengers' baggage or bags inside planes that go missing? Can they also show where the locations of the planes are without cellphone towers?

      @@rosariogamboa1661 It’s a good thought for sure. Even if AirTags or some other tracking device was on-board the flight (like a Tile), they would require a connection to a nearby cell phone to transmit their location via Bluetooth low energy. That cell phone would also need to have a connection to a cell tower. Which of course, wouldn’t be possible in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Hopefully one day the plane will be found if the Malaysian government decides to resume the search.

    • @Greasiola
      @Greasiola 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DiljotSG that’s not even close to how AirTags or any other Tile-like device works. Nothing connects to a cell tower. The location is pinged by the use of other phones in the area. If none of the phones near the tag have service, there’s no way to update the tags location

    Doubt a phone lost in an ocean is much harder to find than a Boeing 777, which hasn't even been found yet. Despite the fact that four-plus years in the ocean an aluminum phone wouldn't be intsct.

  • @ranjirhodes

    Government has access to the cellphone numbers of these passengers . Just check with the location of cellphone ( if they were on) by cross checking with the network service provider . That itself will give them clue as the airplane has returned back to the mainland before vanishing into the unknown.
