I honestly think that going back to Canada is a good idea that way you can get experience and maybe after a year or 2 if you aren’t really feeling Canada you can move back on and E7 or a H-1 visa. I’ve been living in Korea for almost 5 months now and I have no idea what I’m gonna do when my working holiday visa expires in 2026… I don’t want to move back home and get experience because I can’t imagine being in the US for more than a month but at the same time I’m pretty sure teaching is not for me (I especially don’t want to teach really little kids). I also can’t really afford going to language school or grad school here so I’m honestly in a tight situation but unless some other opportunity or new visa pops up, I will probably follow a similar path as you try to teach for a year or two and if I don’t like it change to a D-10 and figure out my next move.
Yeah, I definitely think the best thing to do is research everything super early to really understand all the options (Although I know how stressful it can be 😅) I think if youve got enough experience in teaching, I know people transition to teaching adults and 1-1 tutoring, but now thinking about it, I think they switched to a marriage or another type of pr visa….. visas are such a headache 😩
