Stage Makeup tutorial older face

Is there a reason you don't moisturize before putting on primer? I always moisturize before putting on my regular makeup, but I don't normally wear primer so I'm wondering if I should skip that step for the stage.

I've never used moisturizer. I use the primer as my moisturizer. I don't think it would impact the stage make-up to have moisturizer because the setting spray keeps it all in place.
