Great flight! Antwerps reminds me of my first flight as a passenger, back in 1984 on a Sabena B737-200 from Antwerp to Brussels as part of a daytrip by the dutch railways NS. I still have slides of that flight. It was before the runway was extended and it finished very close to the road. And I remember the cockpit door being open! Those were the days... We took of from rw 29 with a sharp left turn over the harbour and city, towards Bruno VOR for the ILS 25L at Brussels airport. Why are several lights on the apron at Charleroi flashing?
What a story! Thanks for sharing 👌 The flashing lights are on top of the apron lights, they were installed a few months ago, but I don’t know what the reason is for their placement… If anything they make locating the airfield in dusk very easy from every direction 😉
Thanks. Last time I checked it was very expensive to land there with a non base aircraft, so not sure… But I already did a low pass (my second night VFR video if you browse back), a CTR crossing, and a TMA crossing 🤓
Last time I was at Antwerp-Deurne the road before the threshold was still there… Now it’s a tunnel? Oh, and the Croque-Monsieur at the restaurant is good!
Hi, thanks for watching! Indeed, a few years ago (and I also only know this because I’m interested in historical maps and satellite pictures, newer saw it myself) they put the road underground, I guess to be able to provide a proper clearway beyond RWY 11.
Hello Peter, another nice flight ! Well done !
And always nice to see a liner waiting for you to land 🙂
Thanks! And yes, always fun to have the big ones wait for you 😎👨✈️

@@papics yeah, a lorry at that point does not combine well with a shallow approach…
"Beetje windy" ;-)
I do have the bad habit of mixing all the languages I know, sometimes in the same sentence… 😅
@@papics I like it very much!! Thanks a lot for the nice flight!
