Bird strike is not new i will give you one best example I was working with reputed airlines in 2003 a bird went inside the propeller at 30000 ft from France to Mumbai a bird was hit in the engine or propeller but since the aircraft was of 4 engine the engine in which the bird was hit was shutdown and it was safely landed When ground engineering staff checked they found a single wing feather approx 3 feet and on nail of the bird about 4 to 5 inches No doubts the propeller was damage but it was not that dangerous what we see on this flight Very first thing is why landing gears were not realised secondly why fuel was not wasted in air 3rdly why pilot did not responds to ATC about it 4th if you see the speed it was almost 300 miles per hour And lastly at any time in emergency the. Flight take atleast 7 to 15 minutes time with ATC for further information and advice
Last week of December was really very emotional for aviation! I just hope all the people who fly with us should trust us as a pilot and we pilots pledge that we always give our best to keep the skies safe! Happy New Year!
