I’m very happy you enjoyed! You are very welcome and thank you as well for watching and supporting my work! Coming from German ancestry through both my mother and father’s families, it was a must do to be able to experience food from the ancestors.
Hey sorry you haven’t been getting as many views lately. Thank you for helping me sleep the past 2 years. Really hope things get better for you man. Merry Christmas.
I greatly appreciate that! Yeah I don’t know what TH-cam is doing but it’s hurting the content creators who’s pulling in money for these fools. You are very welcome and thank you as well for your amazing support and very generous donation, it means the world to me!
Bavarian here! Love the video and for everyone, here are some more tips from our Christkindlmarkt and a recipe for non alcoholic Glühwein aka. Kinderpunsch (Childrens Punch)😊 So here in Bavaria we mostly have chocolate covered gingerbread called "Lebkuchen" which has a different texture from the gingerbread we use for gingerbread houses. "3 im Weckla" is also very popular as it is 3 Bratwürste in a Bun with sometimes other toppings like Sauerkraut. And lastly the recipe for "Kinderpunsch": Mix cranberry-, cherry-, pomegranate-, black currant- and applejuice in a pot with water, everything in a 1:1 ratio. Cut apple and orange into rings/half rings and add to the pot. For spices I use cinnamon stick, cloves and star anise which I add as well and then boil everything on a low to medium heat. It should be ready when it's steaming and the apple changed to a slightly red/pink color. Merry Christmas everyone 😊💕⭐️
Thanks for the non-alcoholic glühwein/Kinderpunsch recipe! I work at an alcoholic beverages store and often field questions about non-alcoholic options and alternatives. This Kinderpunsch recipe actually helps me a lot if anyone ever asks how to make something similar. Though blackcurrant juice and blackcurrants aren't very popular or frequent in America, sadly, so maybe blackberry juice will work as a comp?
It has to have been 20+ years since I have heard of Pigs in a Blanket. My grandma wrapped them in cabbage. As a child I told her, “I like the pig part. Don’t like the blanket part.” 🤣
@@xbreachedthetosx7591 cabbage? I've only had the ones which were made with a pancake as the "blanket" and bacon or sausage as the pig. Your experience with Pigs in a Blanket is rather different from mine.
@@Peter_The_Great Yes. It’s been so long I don’t remember the exact method/recipe. But the “pig” was wrapped in cabbage, not a pastry. Upon looking into it further (thank you Google), the use of cabbage instead of pastry was more so done in Eastern Europe/Poland. If I had a meat wrapped in pastry as a kid… my goodness, that would have changed my entire opinion on the dish. 🤣
As an Aussie with German heritage, I LOOOOVE Gluhwein! Thank you for all your efforts this year Lloyd, and for all the sleep. I know you've had a tough year, but please buy something nice for yourself for Christmas. Merry Christmas and thank you for all your ASMR work mate, it is appreciated.
Wow, thank you soo much for your very generous donation and your amazing support, it means soo much to me! Oh yeah gluhwein is freakin top tier stuff! You are very welcome my friend and a very Merry Christmas to you as well!
These are some of my favorite videos of yours. I think it's because you really look like you're enjoying yourself. Life can be very hard. It's nice to get the reminder that we need to take our joy where we can!
@lloyd's asmr im from germany, bavaria, franconia, schweinfurt, somewhat near to nürnberg, which hosts the original christkindelsmarkt. since this name for an christmas market is unique to nürnberg i woule assume your towns herritage is from nürnberg. the christkind is basically a local tradition, she is an angel basically our version of santa klaus, doing the gifting on christmas. from looking i can approve that your food is in fact very authentic german. the sticky bun is propably a nussschnecke, similiar to a cinamon bun. we would eat nussschnecke as a forn of hand cake all over the year with coffee for breakfast or in the afternoon. of course we put bratwurst in a brötchen (german bagel without a hole, comparable to buns) but very few would top it off with sauerkraut but ketchup or mustard (not dijon, thats french btw). the glass candy is something that i personally didnt see at our christmas markets so far and of course black forest cake has not really any relation to christmas. but glühwein is 100% authentic as you described and all of the rest of treats i can only congratulate your town for being pretty on point with authenticity. would rate 9.5/10. the only thing missing i think is maronen. google those maybe you can arrange somethint and bring your towns german score to a 10/10 next year xD..... much love and big thanks to you lloyd for all you do on youtube for us. ... oh and P.S. maybe the food presentation and eating from your POV would make it more or a food p0rn video just an idea ;)
Loved watching you tasting all these christmas treats. Went to the christmas market with my sister on wednesday, enjoying our first Glühwein of the year. Best wishes from northern Germany :)
Ah I’m soo happy you enjoyed! It was a total blast trying food from the land of my ancestors! Right, nothing better than that first gluhwein of the year! I hope you have a phenomenal Christmas surrounded by friends and family swaddled in peace love and joy!
YAY!!!!!! Or should I say JA!!!!!???? 😄 As someone of German heritage, I love the tradition of the Christmas market, and the food of course 😊 ETA: I’m 99% sure my grandpa had both of the steins behind you on the shelf. Merry Christmas to you, Lloyd 🎄
You are very welcome! Thank you sooo much for your very generous donation, your kindness and support! I can’t express in enough words how much it means to me! Ah that I shall do! Thank you again sooooo much!
I started the day with a German food video! When i started your video I was still just thirsty. Thought maybe I might find some tea that matched your wine, but now I'm full on hungry (haven't had supper yet.) If I want German food, looks like I'll have to settle for a hotdog. Anyway, great vid. VERY relaxing. Had to rewind three times because I kept falling asleep.
The market that comes to our area every year makes these amazing garlic mushrooms and potatoes! The sauce is just perfection! I’ve tried making my own at home but it’s just never the same as theirs 😭😭
I wish you a merry Christmas and happy holidays, Lloyd! I sincerely hope 2025 will be better than 2024. Thanks for helping a lot of us to relax and sleep well, for so many years. Cheers for the 10 years and cheers to 10 more!! 🍻
German food and desserts. Very wonderful. Just don't everybody go full tilt and get sugar jitters. We Germans are your friends with some tasty treats and whatnot. Merry Christmas to all of you beautiful people.
Me Mum (German side) would make a version of what you called the Potato Candy that I LOVED! Rather than using potato she'd use sugar, flour and eggs I believe to make it more like a fondant and roll it out then slather the layer of peanut butter to make that "Swiss Roll" 😃
I was born in America, but I lived in Hamburg, Germany as a child and German was my first language. I am of German descent as well. In fact, I’m about 90% German. So all of these items I have tasted many times and oh my gosh does it make me hungry to go to our favorite German restaurant which I think we will do this weekend. Wow! What a wonderful video Lloyd. Unexpected and fabulous. ❤😊 🇩🇪
If we hadn’t been out of town this weekend, then my fiancée and I would’ve been at this exact Christkindl market! It’s about 1.5 hours from home for us! I had family who went and had a great time. Glad to see you enjoyed yourself, and thanks for another great video!
I love this one! Well done, I live an hour and a half drive from Germany and the food is delicious there. I love to come there. Thanks for making this, highly appreciated (October fest is awesome 😊)
Haha you know I totally had to take a break after the feast! 😂 But I am quite familiar with this style, being of German descent and growing up with my great grandparents i was raised on this stuff plus more…..things like pig stomach, hearts, liver and tongues.
hello there, lloyd! :) hope, you're doing just fine... let's put the cards on the table: do you drink your "glühwein" with or without a shot? :) greetings from a small place called "berlin"
Sorry if I'm slow on my rounds. I'm having a rough go recuperating from my surgery and some days are harder than others most of the time anymore. It's wearing on me admittedly 😔 I enjoy these vidjeos of yours as it brings back fond Memories of me Granda who I believe I mentioned was born in Germany. When I had to learn to walk again going through PT I named me cane after his as an Homage (Hop-Along: The Sequel). I wouid be over the Moon if one day I could go on these Adventures with you. I used to venture out to these Villages that had quaint antiquities and Ancestral Roots somewhat akin to which you speak. I miss those occasions deeply as it was such a simple and grand time from Better Days 🇩🇪😌🙏

WOW! Loved it until you piled peanut butter frosting on top of that luscious, cinnamony, sweet sticky bun. My stomach literally began heaving a little. Whatever made you think that was a good combination? LOL
Thanks!Happy holidays!
As a German, hearing this perspective is really interesting! Really cool (and relaxing) video, thank you!

@user-vp9zp6bk1v nope😂 hab mir mal die Zutaten auf einer Flasche angeschaut und seitdem mach ich den selber weil das einfach viel günstiger ist

Glad to see you found some fun and tasty treats.
