Same reason I purchased the 3in1 trimmer/mower. I have a riding lawn mower and wanted to use for trimming close to shrubs, trees, and along fence, etc. The deck pops off easily enough to trim the hard to reach areas with the full mower deck I can cut a 10" space for my rider. It's quick and easy.
