Great opening Episode for this third gay project of GND Studio, with a touch of "The New Employee" from 2022. It is awesome for me seeing Yu Bin JEON from "Blue Of Winter" (2022) as "the new employee in probation" Su An YOON in this Series. He was awesome in all of his previous gay characters: "His, Ie Cream" (2022); "Blue Of Winter" (2022) and "Actor:real" just a few month ago. Yu Bin JEON seems just perfect for this role, as a young gay man with a sad romance history. 🤗 😍 🥳 I am not familiar with Jae Bin JUNG, who plays the sales team leader Woo Jin HAN, but he acted really naturally all the scenes, and had a great eye contact with Yi Bin JEON from the beginning. This promises to be a great couple, as we can see also in the trailer. 💘 Now this production has a lot of interesting details, making it a real Artwork, with a multicultural roundness, and really worth getting into then: (1) We have for example a direct reference to the Korean rock-pop and writer Seok Won LEE at 7:10 with SU AN reading "언제 들어도 좋은 말 - Eonje Deul-Eodo Joh-Eun Mal = Good Phrases to Hear Anytime" in the 2021 revisited "이야기 산문집 - Iyagi Sanmunjib = Narrative Prose Collection", by the publisher Eulyu Munhwasa. In that collection the short story that matches this Series the most would be new one added by the author, and never published before: 그 후의 이야기 - Geu Huui Iyagi = The Story Afterwards" ... which deals people's inter-actions, new relationships, expectations, and a lot on self-reflections about everyone own's personality and behavior. This story, placed in the present modern world with all of its struggles, updates beautifully the ancient Greek philosophical maxim of "Γνῶθι σαυτόν = Know Yourself". There the lines to quote as example would be: "내 안의 나를 만나는 일 - Nae an-ui naleul mannaneun il = Facing the ME inside MYSELF 사람과 사람이 만나는 일 - Salamgwa salam-i mannaneun il = While facing always new people." From the trailer we get to see how SU AN becomes stronger, and self-aware of his own limits, while interacting with his team leader Woo Jin HAN. This book reading reference, with all of its advising and encouraging ideas, serves as basis for this character development in the Series. (2) We have an inside on the team leader Woo Jin HAN high working quality at 1:16 with all those trophies and recognition plaques right on screen that show us the "golden age" of his department. At this point is not clear yet WHY this team is been rationalized, but seeing that HR relocated a star employee from the Support Team to assist him with the wrapping up of all open tasks in the next 3 months confirms how valuable Woo Jin HAN still is for the company. (3) The "moment of impact" in this Episode is at 6:25 Woo Jin HAN: 이건 ... 업체 리스트가 아니라 ... 윤주임의 취향 리스트 아니야? Woo Jin HAN: Igeon ... eobche liseuteuga anila ... yunju-im-ui chwihyang liseuteu aniya? Woo Jin HAN: This ...isn't the client's list ... but your own favorite's list? 😳 🙄 😂 What follows is really hilarious... with WOO JIN enjoying and appreciating that Yaoi webtoon to such extend, in a really erotic and funny gay way, while believing that to be the newbie sexual orientation. Unfortunately SU AN was not able to appreciate the open and relaxed way WOO JIN dealt with this, and took it for an incidental and forced coming out. Altogether this is really a great production, where details do play an important role, and that demands a lot more than just enjoying the story from the Korean and the international BL audience. I will certainly enjoy all of it in the next 6 Episodes to come, every Saturday at 6 PM (Seoul Time Zone), here on the official GND Studio channel. 🤗 😍 Cheers...!
