I have these grips, and for ease to use (attach/detach) I’ve made a cut on one side, the use stills the same and now becomes easier work with them and after that remove it with ease
Great review! Do you use a matte screen protector? If so, would love a video on your thoughts on matte screen protectors. Which one would you recommend? (If you use one? Is it worth the screen noise and wear on the Apple Pencil tips?) TIA 🙏
No screen protector! i did have one on my last ipad, but haven't bothered with the new one. I'm careful not to apply too much pressure so I never had an Issue with tips. I used my ipad pro 1 for about 5 years and only changed the tip once around the 5 year mark. I think I had the protector on for maybe 2.5 years or so. I got mine from amazon called Instashieldz for 10 bucks (3 pack) they were great! I love the new screen in all its glory and don't feel i need one now, so I haven't thought about screen protectors (I just wanted the feel, which was cool, but not a deal breaker either way for me)
This Elago case seems a bit bulky. Do you feel comfortable using it up until now? The pencil grips look nice too but are you bothered that you cannot use the double tap feature anymore? Anyway love your video and I just checked out your instagram page. Amazing works!!
Thank you! 🤗 - as for the cases I'm fully use to them now, I like that they are thicker and I may prefer the elago case for the full coverage. I actually wish it didn't have the cutout, I don't use the double tap on the pencil. They both take an extra second or two to put on the charger correctly but honestly I'm happy with both of them. The smaller one does have some small rubber stringy type things I've pulled off which is strange.. Not a big deal. I like to twirl the pencil over my screen so elago is the better bet for me 👍🏾
@@drugfreedave So do you still use the grip ones and when you use them? I've just recently got an iPad and these accessories are driving me crazy haha. Also can you draw with the iPad laying on your thighs and your back leaning against the sofa? For me, I can't draw long lines so comfortably like on my 22inch Cintiq. Maybe I'm just not used to it. Hey, no problem at all I'm happy to reply actually I use both the grips because often when I'm making stew Orioles and things like that one of my Apple pencils dies so actually use both. Also I now use a sketch board Pro so I don't really take the iPad out of that case but when I did I used to sketch wherever... Other than my neck getting sore from looking down at the iPad it was okay. Let me know some of the things you thinking about buying accessories for the iPad, I'm going to start buying some more things so I can review them and try them out thanks again :-)
@@silverarrow76ify When the elago apple pencil 2 case first came out, the double tap hole and the magnetic strip of the sleeve was on the SAME side. I do have the model that has the double tap hole on the same side as the magnetic strip and it worked flawlessly until the silicone split and I purchased a new one (which is when I noticed the double tap hole had flipped). I'm guessing since then, something went wrong in the production line and the elago cases have the double tap hole on the OPPOSITE side of the magnetic strip of the sleeve. My old elago case has a circle stamp with (A) on the magnetic side, but the new one I bought has a circle stamp (D) so I do think the new moulds they are using might be wrong. So if people put the case on hoping to use the double tap function, which is only on the flat, magnetic side of the Apple Pencil 2, and align the double tap hole to the flat side, the magnetic strip would go on the opposite round side of the Apple Pencil 2, and it won't charge. so that double tap hole feature is no longer useful.

Maybe a 1st gen pencil sleeve would work for you as it doesnt need the cutout

Cant get my pencil to charge after using elago
Make sure the specified side is aligned with the pencil, mine didn't work at first until I re-read the directions - hope you get it to work!
How do you charge it/pair with a case on the iPad I can’t charge or pair without taking off my case
Usually full silicone covers have a flatter edge on one side that keeps the magnetic/charging capability of the pencil. ✏️ 👍🏾
Its maddening that Elago can't explain why they put that cutout in the design. Doesn't make sense and you said it best, its an annoyance.
