Well the trip to and from Carnegie Hall has come and gone and I thank you again for posting these great videos that really speeded my practice time which of necessity was quite compressed. It was a costly trip but so worth it because my daughters and I stayed for a week instead of just four 4 days. The Mid-America portion of it was four nights in the Grand Hyatt hotel which is next to Grand Central terminal. As long as you realize you are paying to sing and bringing your audience with you, you will have a good time. They chose a good conductor from one of the attending groups. The concert was two and a half hours long with two intermissions. Mid-America knows how to take care of the concert, the accommodations the busing and late night dinner cruise details flawlessly. We were lucky to be in the first group to sing our 40-minute minute piece so we could sit in the audience to hear the second and third choir's songs. New York is a GREAT City to visit and I am eternally grateful that the choir director for my kids put this trip together.
Glad to hear that your experience was so positive. I am also glad that my videos were helpful. Thanks for the follow up. I hope the rest of your summer is as uplifting.
That is great. Yes, I created a playlist for each voice part. So, what group are you performing with in Carnegie? The Forest Requiem is a wonderfult work. The Three Nocturnes by Forest are also very much worth doing. The best to you in your performance.
The audition choir in which my daughters sing at their high school will join several other groups to make a 200 voice choir like a choir festival performing under the auspices of Mid-America Productions. Their director and I will sing with them. It's actually the reverse of getting paid to perform there but should be a great experience nonetheless!
@@LanceVanArsdell That is wonderful. I have considered doing a Mid America Productions with my groups. However, cost had prevented me. I am sure the experience will be great.
@@jds516 the cost is considerable. It is basically buying an experience. Fundraising could help a lot. I worked more than several several extra weekends to pay for the trip.
Great video Dr. Stewart!. Where can I find the other movements? I am due to sing the tenor part in Carnegia Hall on Sunday two weeks from today and just got the music in the mail yesterday.
