Theo Heal I personally wanted to play OSU. Not because of that but mainly because of how some of their fans was going on why they was number 1 and discrediting LSU’s accomplishments.
I am a Saints/LSU fan, but where ever Joe Burreaux goes I will proudly support him and the team he is with. Joe inspired many people across the country, from his smack talk during the games, to his humble demeanor at his acceptance speech, he is truly the type of athlete you want on your team. A warrior for 60 mins and a professional with class outside the gridiron. Joey Burreaux is a LSU legend and I am glad that his hometown adopted the tigers and their star QB. What a great football movie in the making from a story that should inspire millions.
What a story. Mr. Football in Ohio, goes to OSU, gets his hand broke, drops down the depth chart, transfers to LSU, deals with the offensive growing pains season one, rewrites the quarterback record books season two, wins the Heisman, the Natty...pretty much has the #1 pick locked up. All that journey just to end up where? That's right, back home in Ohio.
As a lifelong LSU fan right here in Baton Rouge I noticed the cycle of it all. Seems quite natural he should find his way back to Ohio. Of course he does. Things work that way for Joe. Kid has the Midas touch. I know this, if the Bengals draft Joe (and they will), I'm instantly a Bengals fan.
@@ronaldfuchs1049 The only piece missing from this being the greatest anime redemption arc of all time is him beating OSU in the Natty which could have very well happened if a few calls had gone differently in the OSU vs Clemson game.
As a high school O-Lineman, that was the most heart warming opening line to a speech I’ve ever heard. As a lineman and as a lot of my friends being lineman, I know a lot of lineman don’t wake up one day and say “I wanna be a lineman,” I was a running back before and we had a shortage on lineman so my coach gave me those dreading words, “hey we need you to help us out on the line,” and ever since then I’ve been a lineman playing every position in the line from tight end all the way down to center. And center is by far the hardest position on the line.
Buddy Buddy I totally agree. I’ve been o line almost my entire life, and I’m currently a tight end. But whenever my dad comes to me or my brother’s games, and a big play happens, he yells “GREAT WORK LINE!” Which I think is awesome because those guards centers and tackles get little to no credit, honestly, when they are most of the reason that big play happened.
Torbyn Eakins, yea man for us lineman we really don’t get credit, the only time we get our name called is when we do something wrong, one of my coaches called it “The Trenches” because it really down and dirty on the line, I’ve been in legitimate fights on the line and the refs can’t see it. But I love being a lineman and sometimes I want to go back to being a full back but idk if that’ll ever happen
Oh god yes center is difficult. You're responsible for more than just blocking. You need to call out the adjustments and ensure everyone else is on the same page. Along with that, it's more difficult than ppl expect to snap the ball and then make the block. I wasnt the quickest, but center is a more cerebral position than other positions that I thought tackle was easier, despite it requiring more athleticism
First thanks for making such a great video. 2nd. I live in Baton Rouge Louisiana and have always been an LSU fan. This year has blown by so fast and just unreal what the entire team has done. Just thought I was dreaming when we played Bama and controlled most of the game. I'm proud of those young men for all the work they put in and bringing the championship home. Also never thought I'd see a Heisman Trophy lifted by an LSU player in my lifetime. Great season and still waiting to wake up from a dream.
I don't know about unlikely. He's just a young man who found the right school, the right system and the right situation to make the best use of his talents. This is exactly what the transfer portal was meant for.
Geaux Jeaux Burreaux! - Buckeye Fan. Sorry about the tough luck at THE OSU, but really happy for your success at LSU. Coach Orgeron is a fine man and thanks to him for recognizing your talent.
One of the toughest most perseverance stories I have ever seen. Most people's confidence would have waiverd. His ability and skills and toughness are the mark of a true champion
Being from Baton Rouge and not knowing much about football my first experience with Joe Burrow was a picture of my brother giving him his winning haircuts. The ESPN story about "Brocato Hair Salon" in Baton Rouge had me laughing , "Hippie Bookish" is how they described Matt Brocato. Eventually as the months passed and ESPN interviewed my brother . A quote from that story ""Right now, he owns the city." Matt Brocato this quote became so very true .
That’s why I love joe no one respects the lineman my quarterback never said anything to us except for y’all at us for missing a block bug every time we buy the second string quarterback in he was the nicest he ended with the starting position and every time we have a birthday or at Christmas he will buy us all gifts
Im from Louisiana born and raised and I've lived in Ohio...i liked burrow alright but ive always been kimd of guarded with rookie qbs cause weve all been let down before. I can honestly say now the more i learn about Joe and watch him play im a Joe Burrow fan now. Heres hoping every blessing possible catches him.
I used to watch Jimmy Burrow play for Nebraska with Joe’s Great Great Grandmother who lived next door. I loved that lady. And I know she would be proud of Joe.
Or they could include a big movie about both Orgeron and Burrow bc nobody wanted both of them, it could be called “the making of a tiger”, “the nobody’s”, “Burreaux + O”, or “two completely different worlds collide”
The first great college team I ever saw was Nebraska when Tommie Frazier was running that unstoppable option attack. Now that I've dated myself I can say I've never seen a college quarterback have a more dominant season. His accuracy, decision making and complete control of the offense was stunning. Back shoulder throws, across his body, on the run, standing tall in the pocket, he made all the throws. He didn't just get the ball there, he often put it in the only place he could in a super narrow window. Always with his eyes down the field, taking shots when they're there and taking what he can when they're not. He was incredibly tough to bring down even when the defense brought pressure and got their hands on him. Super underrated atheletically and made plenty of big plays with his feet when they were needed. Broke the passing TD record, the total TD record, 1,035 total yards in the 2 game playoff, SEC passing yards season record. Beat 7 top 10 teams and all 4 of the preseason top 4 who were ranked ahead of LSU. Cam Newton had a great single season. Tim Tebow had a pretty dominant run at Florida. Andrew Luck put up some big numbers. Think about this for a minute, Peyton Manning in his senior year threw for 3800 yards and 36 TDs and 11 picks. Joe goes for over 5,000, 60 TDs (plus 5 on the ground) and completes at a 17% higher percentage despite throwing more often. It was such a pleasure to watch him play this year and I'd love to see one more year out of him. Unfortunately this one magical run is all we LSU fans get. We've been playing for so long without a quarterback and still consistently top 10 and winning bowls. Fortunately showcasing this type of offensive system will attract a different level of QB recruit now that they can better showcase their abilities in a modern offense. Get ready for Myles Brennan next year. Another really accurate pro style QB that has been patiently waiting his turn. Ja'Marr Chase and Terrace Marshall will be back next year, accounting for over 30 TDs between them.
Have always been a Razorback fan as far back as I can remember, and I guess I will be calling them hogs up to the day them Angels come to carry me home, I don't care who you are where your from how can you not be a Joe Burrow fan, great player, amazing human being.. Go Joe Go😉🏈
I knew LSU would beat my Sooners but after we lost all those starters I predicted a route. Our best defensive player was our safety, he broke his collar bone in practice a week before the game and by God LSU took advantage of it. It was a sad day for us but theres always next year. Congradulations, you guys have not only a hell of a team but probably the best team in over a decade in NCAA D1.
Loved this and even happier to have seen Joey’s rise at LSU. We are sincerely going to miss him when he leaves for the NFL. #GEAUXJOE #BEATCLEMSON #DREAMSDOCOMETRUE
8 of the teams LSU beat played in bowl games. 7 of those teams won their bowl games. LSU beat six top-10 teams and the top four teams in the preseason AP Top 25, winning the SEC and outscoring the opposition by a combined 55 points in the postseason to win the program's fourth national championship. Burrow became the first college quarterback to lead the country in accuracy while throwing for 5,000+ yards and 50+ touchdowns. GOAT.
Additional details: As I have heard the story, Burrow planned to go to Nebraska (his entire family had played there), but they didn't offer him a scholarship and that's how he got to Ohio State. This has to be one of the most monumental blunders by any coaching staff, at any time in the history of college football. I strongly suspect that Urban Mayer (Ohio state's coach at the time) never had any intention of starting Burrow. They offered him a scholarship just to keep him off the market. Mayer only uses quarterbacks that are running backs first and passers second: that is his formula. He has a formula and he just plugs new people into his system as the older guys graduate. Cardale Jones was in the same situation a few years ago. If not for an injury at just the right moment, No one would have ever heard of Cardale Jones. The guy came off the bench for the last couple of games of his senior season in 2014, and looked awesome while leading the Buckeyes to the national championship. This hiding of talent so your competitors won't have the oppurtunity to beat you with the guy is a really filthy part of college football. I am glad they changed the rules to allow the players to transfer. Burrow did not use the new transfer rule as he graduated in 3 years. He was a "free agent" who could go play his 2 remaining years anywhere he liked. Joe missed spring practice in Baton Rouge in 2018 because he was still at Ohio State trying to graduate. College football has strict rules for how much practice time is allowed. The double sessions in August last a very short time and Joe simply didn't have time to work out the choreography with his receivers in 2018. You will hear about the revamped offense often, but LSU tried to do a similar thing last year. It didn't work (you can go watch the tape of the 2018 game vs Auburn to see what I mean) and they had to simplify the offense after the first couple of games. I will give this video quite a bit of credit for noticing that Burrow didn't really "lose" the starting job at Ohio State as much as he was just kinda pushed aside.
Your argument is flawed. You state 'Mayer only uses quarterbacks that are running backs first and passers second: ' Burrows was an infinitely better runner than Dwayne Haskins was. As the video stated, Burrows broken hand is the only thing that got him dropped from the #2 guy. Its not like Dwayne Haskins was bad either, he did get drafted in the 1st round as a Junior.
The difference between Burrow and Haskins was that Haskins was from New Jersey and Meyer was concerned about his recruiting contacts in NJ if he picked Burrow. Recruiting is a complicated game.
I've known about Joe Burrow ever since the State Finals shootout with Toledo Central Catholic. I'm old school in the fact that I want my QB to be a drop-back passer and not a runner. When Joe went to The OSU I was so excited but knew he would struggle under Urban Meyer and his Tim Tebow running QB offense. Watching JT Barrett for the Buckeyes was killing me, even though he had success, because I wanted to see Burrow throwing the ball. I am happy that Joe Burrow got to go somewhere and let his talent shine. Good on him and everyone that "knew him when" knew he had it in him. I might be switching to a Bengals fan here in a couple months because I can't watch the Browns any more. Congratulations Joe!
erie sniper I watched that state championship game on TV and Joe already looked like a QB that could be calling the shots for a top 10 team. His whole team was amazing to watch that year and it was heartbreaking when they lost.
That state championship game his senior year was one of the best I've ever seen. Joe put the team on his back and nearly carried them to a win. It's a shame he got hurt at the start of his redshirt sophomore season as he was clearly ahead of Haskins at that point. The time off meant he didn't get the starts and it was too much to overcome by the time he got healthy. I've also thought Joe would have been much better running Urban's offense since he actually could run the ball vs. Dwayne's immobility. Dwayne always had a stronger arm but you could always see Joe was more accurate, had the better touch, and could read defenses better. Now Haskins has much less experience than Burrow which I think really hurt him this year with the Redskins. I wish more college QBs realized they only get 1-2 years to prove themselves in the NFL and it is better to take all the snaps you can get in college. I'm sure the extra time will serve Joe well, I just wish it wasn't for the Bengals (long-suffering Browns fan here too).
Joe Burrow has played 9 “must win games” during his college & pro career 2019 LSU Bama UGA (SEC Title) Oklahoma (Semi Final) Clemson (Natty) 2021 Bengals Ravens (Week 16) Chiefs (Week 17) Raiders (Wild Card) Titan (Divisional) Chiefs (AFC Championship) 9 - 0 W - L 3,614 Passing Yds. (401/game) 31 TD 2 Int. And counting
I watched Burrow very closely at OSU, Why Meyer never started him was always a mystery. His spring game performances were all spectacular! He clearly outplayed Haskins, yet Meyer would not name him the starter, instead he said he wasn't ready to make a decision. Very odd. Although I have always thought Meyer was an outstanding coach, he has a history of not recognizing qb talent. God bless Joe Burrow, possibly the greatest college qb ever!! Good luck!
Most of the players at Ohio State felt the same way. I never felt like Burrow had a real chance. Chris Simms stated that his sources said Meyer was worried about his New Jersey recruiting contacts being unhappy if he didn't name Haskins as the starter. One thing for sure is that Ohio State is no longer loyal to Ohio athletes.
Fantastic and damn good video. Joe was amazing to watch even as a kid. I was one of his coaches on his youth team and just watching him tear apart other teams was something special. He was a good kid then and I’m glad he’s still a good guy. Now I hope he doesn’t end up in Cinci because that will ruin his career.
I've followed LSU football fanatically for as long as I can remember -- which is quite some time considering the Marines had been on Guadalcanal a week the day I was born in Baptist Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana in August, 1942. I remember lying in bed as a high schooler listening to the radio as reaction to Billy Cannon's Halloween night punt return totally obliterated the commentary. I've been thirsting for the 2019 LSU team and Joe Burrow's arrival since that night. Thanks, Tigers for delivering!
Makes college football some how feel great again, put that shine, making it fun to watch, & exciting to be a part of, great memories happening right now🏈🎇🇺🇸
The sequel to Ed O's movie would be the biggest downfall in sports history from 15-0 to two .500 seasons getting fired two years after winning it all. That guy was and is such a loser and at the end all he cared about was his money. That tells you who he always was, he never loved LSU like he claimed he loved money and power it all went to his head. Fucker quit LSU as a kid.
Joe Burrow really embarrassed Clemson Tigers on Monday night and omg I'm so proud of him for that for now but he's awesome in my opinion and I think he's still around and he's young and amazingly talented guy in my opinion
Watching this 2 years later is even crazier, the movie continues. National Championship secured and now has his first Super Bowl berth after only 2 seasons in the NFL. Hope he can dethrone Brady as the goat during his career. Kid is special.
The Saints would love Joe Burrow as Drew Brees' successor, but they're nowhere near the means of trading for the No. 1 pick even if they pulled another Ditka.
Great concise video about a great player I watched in the 2019-2020 college season I knew was destined for greatness. He us also handsome and like an old time quarterback out of the 1930s.
And if it couldnt get any better, he just lead his NFL team to the super bowl in his second season after a promising first season that ended short due to a heartbreaking injury. How can you not root for this guy? Comeback kid
@@jamessveinsson6006 Shades of Jim Plunkett who was drafted No. 1 by the Patriots after a stellar collegiate career at Stanford capped with the 1970 Heisman Trophy. The Pats O-line sucked big time and Plunkett spent a lot of his time in New England being pounded into the ground and looking out through the earholes on his helmet. Naturally he was considered another Heisman bust when in reality his supporting cast sucked the big meatpole. Vindication came later with the Raiders and TWO Super Bowl titles. Plus Plunkett's personal backstory is much more compelling than Burrows'. Joe Burrow should pull an Elway and tell the Bengals that he will not sign if they draft him.
The first b-mail I sent burrow back in 2014 the week he committed to OSU was a la Lats from The Program. "Is that right, Joey? You gonna lead us to the Promised Land?"
I watched this man prove to us what he knew already what God had given him. But, he didn't rest on his past, he worked to improve himself and all those around him. Since Woody Hayes tackled that Clemson player I've had no respect for Ohio period! This young man brought that respect back by coming south to the bayou and making a GOAT out of Mike! Keep it up, Jeaux. You're going to be fun to watch!
GREAT video!!! AWESOME story of hardworking and how it pays off!!! On a side note, the pictures of the Ohio coach are of Frank Solich, not Jamie Burrows...
How can you NOT like this video? Or this story? 127 pure haters and "loyal to their team" fans. Get over yourselves. Don't hate this kid's story because of YOUR shortcomings. You can't make up a story like this. Phenomenal.
@Sasuke Uchiha Look at the prison population and the drug and alcohol rehab centers. The majority, the vast majority come from broken, abusive, non-existent homes. The folks you speak of are aberrations, very rare.
@Sasuke Uchiha - It would have made all the difference in the world. There are probably guys in prison who has the same, if not better, skills that he has; however, because they had NO support, they did not flourish.

Yeah, this video COMPLETELY skips how Mike Riley REFUSED to offer a scholarship to Joe Burrow, even though he WANTED TO PLAY @ NEBRASKA
Thank you Chase. Greatly enjoyed the video. Roughly 6 hours away from kickoff. Bring it home Burrow!!
Congrats on your HEISMAN. You truely DESERVE IT.
Joe Burrow has played 9 “must win games” during his college & pro career

Clemson (Natty)
2021 Bengals
Ravens (Week 16)
Chiefs (Week 17)

Chiefs (AFC Championship)

3,614 Passing Yds. (401/game)
31 TD

That will be great for the sec now they can get the best quarterbacks in the country lol
it's crazy that in the state playoffs he picked apart my high school team both years he faced us
Who’s here after LSU won the national championship
Why do you people even comment, every single video, "who's here after"
I live in Athens, Ohio. He’s a hero here now. It was as if we (Ohio university) won the championship.
I'm from Nelsonville. He's definitely the legend around here
Facts. I go to OU and he’s a legend here.
i’m in louisiana and the whole state cut up for burreaux, including odell 🙄
Ohio vs Kent State
i live in bartlett
Congratulations to LSU and Joe Burreaux, what a great team. LSU has always been my second favorite team. Roll Tide!
finally a nontoxic alabama fan wish their were more of your kind
Lol Joe’s uncle was my business professor last semester. Really funny and awesome guy!
athletico fan?
Joe represents all those other great athletes who never got the chance!
@@soleswankthealchemist1997 your statement doesn't really make sense idk why you're getting worked up in a tizzy
@@soleswankthealchemist1997 Bad day or is it that time of month for you?
DIAMONDGAME stfu if it didn’t nobody would agree fucking peasant
Fantastic and damn good video. Joe was amazing to watch even as a kid. I was one of his coaches on his youth team and just watching him tear apart other teams was something special. He was a good kid then and I’m glad he’s still a good guy. Now I hope he doesn’t end up in Cinci because that will ruin his career.
Thanks to Joe, (and many other players and coaches) now Cincy is in the Super Bowl!
where ever he goes in the draft ill be a joe burrow fan
I've followed LSU football fanatically for as long as I can remember -- which is quite some time considering the Marines had been on Guadalcanal a week the day I was born in Baptist Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana in August, 1942. I remember lying in bed as a high schooler listening to the radio as reaction to Billy Cannon's Halloween night punt return totally obliterated the commentary. I've been thirsting for the 2019 LSU team and Joe Burrow's arrival since that night. Thanks, Tigers for delivering!
Joe Burrow played me in hs football my freshman year. It was my team who he threw the touchdown to himself. He was unreal
Well done Chase! Hollywood could make a movie about Joe or Coach O after this incredible story. You can't make this stuff up can you?
Makes college football some how feel great again, put that shine, making it fun to watch, & exciting to be a part of, great memories happening right now🏈🎇🇺🇸
The sequel to Ed O's movie would be the biggest downfall in sports history from 15-0 to two .500 seasons getting fired two years after winning it all. That guy was and is such a loser and at the end all he cared about was his money. That tells you who he always was, he never loved LSU like he claimed he loved money and power it all went to his head. Fucker quit LSU as a kid.
I clicked on this video and honestly thought that this was made by a large football channel
That's the goal! I appreciate hearing that!
Great video, simple but effective editing, and everything we need to know without over glorifying it. Got my like and sub.
That ending was legit. I liked the video and am now commenting just because of that.
I had to hit like especially for the last 30 secs lol, great vid Chase
He throws the most beautiful deep ball in all of college football. Kid drops dimes
My dad actually scouted Joe Burrow when Joe was in High School
He will go down as the greatest QBs of all-time
Joey will be adored in Louisiana forever. GEAUX JEAUX, GEAUX TIGERS 💜💛
The Saints would love Joe Burrow as Drew Brees' successor, but they're nowhere near the means of trading for the No. 1 pick even if they pulled another Ditka.
Maybe he will struggle at Cincinnati a few yeas and then when brees retires we can scoop him up. Might be a pipe dream but that would be great.
He did what he said "he won a national championship" yet for a different team.
Bucknuts couldn't use him, too bad for them.
After watching this video, I have so much more respect for Joe Burrow. I hope he succeeds in Cincinnati. ^^
Great concise video about a great player I watched in the 2019-2020 college season I knew was destined for greatness. He us also handsome and like an old time quarterback out of the 1930s.
Good work!
And if it couldnt get any better, he just lead his NFL team to the super bowl in his second season after a promising first season that ended short due to a heartbreaking injury. How can you not root for this guy? Comeback kid
I’m a LSU fan and Joey Burrow and that entire team gave us such a great season of football. He is amazing and I will always support him.
a fabulous Clift's Note to a spectacular career of a fine young man; good work presentation!
2 years later he has made it to the NFL championship as the Hollywood story continues 🤝
That was the greatest season a qb could ever have... I wouldn't call it a Hollywood ending though bc Hollywood is fake J.B. is real
what can you say, a GREAT story and well deserved. Roll Tide
Great video! I loved it!
Geaux Tigers!
It’s so exciting watching the evolution of Burrow. He’s going to have such an amazing career
this choked me up! beautiful story!
Part 2: King of Ohio - Burrow to Cincinnati
Fuck Ohio y’all didn’t give him a shot
Gets buried on the depth chart again, goes to New Orleans to replace Brees once he retires. Becomes a champion again.
Belichek pulls a Ditka and trades his whole draft to Cincinnati for the #1 pick.
If he ends up at the Queen city.
He will die there.
They do not have a good o - line
Or recieving corp.
And defence sucks.
Joe Burrow should pull an Elway and tell the Bengals that he will not sign if they draft him.
this was really well done! major props!
Always humble and genuine. Freak of nature in highschool. Played against him as a DL and he slipped about 15 sacks. Toasted us.
Hope that Burrow can eventually match up with my Joe, Montana in CC. love this young man already.
Great job with this video. Tnanks for putting it together.
A CLASS ACT....WELL DONE
The high school burrow attentended is in the same conference, the TVC (Tri-Valley Conference) I love how far he has.
Great video! Love Joe Burrow - who doesn’t?
I wish him the very best ... good luck in your professional quarterback career
The first b-mail I sent burrow back in 2014 the week he committed to OSU was a la Lats from The Program. "Is that right, Joey? You gonna lead us to the Promised Land?"
The fact that he thanked his O-line.first, gets all my respect. Them guys work hard for the team.
Roll Tigers
Great Job Joe
National Champions
GEAUX TIGERS 🏆
I watched this man prove to us what he knew already what God had given him. But, he didn't rest on his past, he worked to improve himself and all those around him. Since Woody Hayes tackled that Clemson player I've had no respect for Ohio period! This young man brought that respect back by coming south to the bayou and making a GOAT out of Mike! Keep it up, Jeaux. You're going to be fun to watch!
Great video dude.
Phenomenal.
YO THIS IS REALLY GOOD
Lol love your videos and your honesty..... subbed
He had good, loving, supportive parents... case closed.
@Sasuke Uchiha - Disagree with you.
@Sasuke Uchiha Look at the prison population and the drug and alcohol rehab centers. The majority, the vast majority come from broken, abusive, non-existent homes. The folks you speak of are aberrations, very rare.
@Sasuke Uchiha - He has the skills to be a football player, like so many guys in a prison cell right now because they didn't have supportive parents.
@Sasuke Uchiha - It would have made all the difference in the world. There are probably guys in prison who has the same, if not better, skills that he has; however, because they had NO support, they did not flourish.
He's the truth..and I hope he's coming to my Bengals!!
He going be good
Time to add one chapter, Champs
Excellent!
wow as uga fan you had admit that burrow was the best and congrats to his first natty he deserved it
You forgot that Joe started throwing footballs in the offices at NDSU while his dad was a defensive coordinator there.
thank you for the great video. earned my sub!
Chazy chats for da win
I played Joe Burrow in high school and got blown out baby! Wooo!
Lol
Where did he come from? Where will he go? Where did he come from? L S U Joe.
Buckeye Nation is proud of Joe ... What a talented and inspiring young man ... Our loss was LSU's gain in spades ...
