I know nick gets all the praise for all the amazing work he does, but you the film maker deserve a lot of praise . The quality of cinematography and the editing is absolutely spot on . Thanks to you we get to see all this magic that goes down at indy auto !
John Smith. Thank you very much. And yes, my buddy George, is the man who deserves all the credit. What I do is my job, but George is the one who puts many hours of his own time into "Nick's Garage". He is a one man team. filming, editing, narrating, correcting subtitles and then put it all together and puts it on TH-cam. And yes, he does Magic. Everyone down at the shop love his work, and besides all that, he is loved by everyone.
I don't know who the announcer is in the background, but I just thought I'd let you know that you couldn't have picked a better guy for the job. I love his voice. I get the feeling I'm supposed to recognize his voice from somewhere else. Anyway, his voice and the background music are a great match for your videos, Nick. It makes your videos television worthy! Not that YT isn't a form of TV. Your whole production crew deserves a VERY big pat on the back! Well done, guys!
Thank you for all the great videos! I have hundreds of subscriptions, and your channel is one of the first I look for every day. /waves from St. Louis, MO
I remember seeing a 2 year old conv. 440 auto for sale for 1500 bucks. It was in winter in Denver and my brother said, " I'm not sure if it smokes or its just cold" good times. I love your channel. Little did I know we were passing up gold..........
It’s going to be beautiful I don’t care as much for convertible but they are more rare generally another well done job I don’t know how you do it dyno rebuilds dragstrip TH-cam looks like you take care of a lot of the Montreal muscle car scene hard work pays off love your videos
There is nothing like "big iron" hanging on the hoist and having a crack in the floor or one little piece of rock under a wheel. Pucker a little. Nick has done this before, tucking the thumb on the header as it dropped in. My years of doing things wrong makes me appreciate watching it being done correctly. Beauty!
Nick, I have loved mopars since a snot nosed kid in early 1970s, love what you do, your channel, your attn. to detail, best compliment I can give Nick, YOU just GET IT !!!!!!!! love it, and I see in Visily(hoped spelled right) the look in the eye, keep it up.
Remember that 440 Nick rebuilt? The one that leaked from the block? I've been there, done that. A little known 440 block, the truck/motorhome block. It's reinforced at the side wall on the block between the freeze plugs, and has "Hourglass shaped" water passages on the deck. When used with a real copper/steel head gaskets are virtually bullet proof. If your looking for the ultimate 440 block, this is the ticket.
When I was building my Dad's engine for the Imperial, he drove my 71 Charger. It hooked him good with 6 pack fever. It set up using a 440 with the 6 pack. Back then (1979) the 6 pack was a difficult set up, very few people could get it to work properly. But I was familiar with it, the Pontiac 389 and 421 had 6 packs from the factory. I worked on them at the Pontiac shop. The vacuum secondary carbs we're tricky. My mentor showed me how to "pin the diaphragm" and use a "stepped linkages" of his own design. My set up used the step linkage, you could cruise around town on the center two barrel carb getting acceptable (For the times) gas consumption (lol). My dad loved it. "Just keep it under 3500 rpm Pops, and keep your foot out of it" (he never did) I set up his "Ipm" the same way. His Imp was sharp, a Black top over "Aztec gold" I couldn't stand the tacky top. I talked him into ripping off the offensive top and having it painted while the car was waiting for it's engine. I did all the bodywork on the roof. It was painted with a two tone black metallic upper over the gold. The hood, top and trunk was black with restrained pin stripes. It knocked him out with black & gold. Once I got "my set up" in the Imp it was a monster It got compliments where ever it whent. He drove it every day He never sold THAT car. The way of the muscle car will never die. Tommy.
So nice to see this rare Mopar convertible coming back to life. That 440 engine pulls so nice and strong and has a nice idle. I'm loving it! Classic Mopars forever!
Hi Nick, another great video, I love watching you guys work. What you need is a Hemi powered engine hoist, it would make those engine installations go a lot faster...Frank
I like Nick's because he seems like a real person, not a spokesman for a motor oil or other product. The cars are real cars, like real people drive, not unlimited dollar trailer queens. The dyno is a nice feature, and I don't think they overdo it in the videos. You want to see how the various builds compare. 440's are nice because they make a ton of torque from the factory but were neglected while hemi's were the thing. I've got one in the garage with 11:1, stealth heads, dual AFBs and Comp extreme energy .564 hydraulic cam. Has a six pack bottom from, honest to God, a 1973 motor home. The thing was so clean, it didn't even need an overbore.
Another great video by the master and his team, so fortunate to be in Laval Canada to have the opportunity to assist and be present at Nick's Garage, great bunch of guys.
When I ordered my oldsmobile in 1983 I got almost every option possible. when I see cars like this, 16 made that year, I wish I stall had my olds. it was the nicest driving car I ever owned.
It's nice to see a canteen on wheels stop by by breaktime. We have something like that back here in the Philippines, but they're commonly tricycles. Anyway, two of rebuilding the car might be long but is worth the effort.
👍Sweet vid Mr Nick! I would’ve loved to see the Dodge in its “cocoon” of sorts (school bus) but oh well. I can’t tell you how much your videos are helping an old, almost blind mechanic ... helps me cope so there’s so many things that you can’t understand HOW these videos help people in every aspect of the word “help” so I thank you and your crew from the bottom of my heart. ✌️ 😎👀👌🙏
I’m not following this channel from a long time, but i can say that this channel is very interesting. And also, i like that Nick is kind of Al Pacino in the world of classic cars. Even their voices are very close to each other. ☺️
Back when I was just out of high school I was working two jobs. One in a factory and the other turning wrenches at a car lot. I remember going to the local auto auction and a 70 super bee R/T with 70 thousand miles went for $1,400.00 but that was during the second arab oil embargo and you couldn't hardly give cars away with big engines.
I miss the days of when the gut truck used to come by and sell their grub. I sure was wanting to see the numbers on the wide band O2 during those pulls. Maybe next time? Looking ahead to the next Nick's Garage video! :-)
First time I ever saw a car do a burnout all the way up the street (200+ feet) without power braking was a white convertable coronet like this one, and the motor was a 440 with 2 four barrel carbs, smoke was so thick you couldn't see the other side of the road, and so loud the ground rumbled.
When Nick was under the front of the car in the lift, and was pointing out things that were rite and wrong, kinda struck me like the Lord and his deciples, Nick being the Lord of Mopars and all brands
Looks like another satisfied and happy customer I hope you guys show the Coronet again when it's all done that year is my favorite but it's the 70 Super Bee
Glad i came across this channel , Thanks to ALL that make it possible ! I have always had an interest in All cars & Trucks Just some are more interesting than others... Thanks for the great videos & Keep em coming . Bravo !
Well Worth The Wait I Remember When the Coronet First Came In To the Shop It’s Looking Amazing Now And With Nick n Vasili On It It’s Sure To Be Perfect Thank You Nick n Crew The Best Channel On TH-cam 😎👩🏻💼🇺🇸😀😀😊😊 Keep Up the Great Work
That sound on the dyno,,,sounds like the powerhouse is about to take off,,,,but in street it will be modified,,,That Orage Hemi color looks great on all Dodge's and Plymouth of that era
One thing I can do for ya nick . If you ever need any aviation tools like clecos , c squeezes , die grinders , or nut runners or anything odd you can use let me know . I've still got good connections in Wichita , Ks .
SunKing. I had a 383 Mopar last year built and Dyno tested. I had it tested when my buddy "Camera Man" was not there, sorry. I have a 400 mopar being built with 383 rods and crankshaft. I will put it on the Dyno, and hope to have it on video. And I just finished a 383 last week, just a refresh, and no Dyno. Thanks for watching.
They were neither painted or primed underneath just zinc coated with overspray from sides. Front needs to be painted satin black behind grill with an xo if it has limited slip. Master cylinder is wrong. That's the old style for all wheel drums. 70 usually had disc in front and they have spring clip tops Just a suggestion but you may want to put the original small pulley on alternator so he can drive at night
lol im a dodge girl! And im in Manitoba. Thanks for offer though I'm not that good and I don't really speak french. I do have plans to come to montreal for a visit to two other people there though.
Well,well....classy music to back up a classic! Just for info Nick, do you allow visitors to come by and see the shop? I’m in Montreal > Chateauguay/South Shore and having owned a 69 Cutlass Supreme Convertible with a 350 / 4bbl and 2 speed PowerGlide-- a 72 Ford Maverick with the 5 litre/ SB 302, dual exhaust, shift kit, and replacement diff (3.73,I think), I thought it would be great to see some of the rides from the best time of muscle cars. I’m pushing 62 and just got past a tuff summer last year of surviving 4 , yes 4 heart attacks. Seeing a few of the old drivers would be a hoot. Keep up the fantastic work you’re doing of keeping the past alive and running into the future.
Micheal W. You are welcome to come anytime you wish. We have all kinds of visitors. Why don't you come on a Saturday and meet my Camera Man. We try to keep the Dyno testing for Saturdays, for filming.
Mike.....sorry to hear about the heart attacks....I'm 72 and crossing my fingers....good so far. I do some working out but this old horse is wearing out. Sounds like you keep on hot rodding.....just like I do. Keep the Faith, and Good Luck to you. PS....still riding my dirt bike, too.
With the score at this moment of 1,600 to 53, I would like to hear from some of the 53 haters about WHY they gave this video a thumbs down. Jealousy? Pure, evil hatred? Total personal ineptitude? You can't do anything yourself so living in your mother's basement gives you plenty of time to go around posting negative responses to greatness? Get a life. Get off your backside and do something. Help other people for once instead of looking for free handouts from Mom and everyone else.
Rickey N. It practically made the same power and torque. We had it tested the following day. The torque stayed the same of 521, and 3 more H.P. for a total of 434. Thanks for watching.
A KB. I have used it lately to tune part throttle and idle. At full throttle there is no vacuum at the vacuum advance, It is rare that I work with port vacuum.
I noticed that you like to use the orange HI-temp silicone for exhaust gaskets. For a header system would you recommend gaskets with the orange silicone for sealing the headers to the head??
DaveBuilds. On the dyno, we figure what timing is needed, air/fuel ratio, carb sizes, and we always test the engine with the clients intake manifold. After installed in the car, we fine tune it with what ever the car has.
I was really curious to see the difference in between the two carburetors.... did you guys just get carried away with being so spot-on the money with what you guys wanted and forgot to swap carburetors?
all the boost. The following day we ran the engine with my clients Edelbrock carb. The torque stayed the same at 521, and made 3 more H.P. for a total of 434H.P. Not bad. Thanks for watching.
This is going to sound rediculous .....but......Nicky , me thinks you need a break from that cold . You need a shop in Manila , Philippines . You wouldn't think it but you would make a fortune on mopars there and shipped in ones from south east Asia . Make a nice place to vacation for however many months it's cold as hell there . It's a thought , anyhow . Even if it is silly . The food , the warmth , the scenery........ohhh yassss .
So Nick what happened to the numbers once you switched to the Edelbrock carb? I have a Holley now but am thinking of switching to the new AVS 2 carb to help with off idle stumble issues. Love your show almost makes me want a Mopar! :) I have a 66 Chevelle but who am I kidding I want a 68 Roadrunner / Superbee now.
Richard Rosa. The following day we tested my clients Edelbrock carb, made the same torque of 521 and 3 more H.P. for a total of 434H.P. Back to your Holley carb, why not try to adjust the accelerator pump, or replace the shooter or maybe timing. Try any of the above, and I am sure you can figure it out and good luck. Thanks for watching.

@@nickpanaritis4122 George Rocks!!!
I rebuilt my 351 Cleveland myself and it runs fine, but I wish Nick could have built it for me. Can't get enough of Nick's garage.
Dave B. I am rebuilding a 351 Cleveland for the Mad Max car. This will be on video.

Good cars , good work , good food , good friends . It’s good to see it all in one place !!
Dan Joseph. Every Saturday, this is what we have.
Nice Job can’t wait to see the rag top when she looks all dressed up. Thank You Nick!!!!
I could watch these videos all day. Mopar restoration is alive and well.
Something about different languages and mean American horsepower makes me so happy!
In the 70s we would've said "Nick's got his shit together." It looks like a really nice shop.
I remember seeing a 2 year old conv. 440 auto for sale for 1500 bucks. It was in winter in Denver and my brother said, " I'm not sure if it smokes or its just cold" good times. I love your channel. Little did I know we were passing up gold..........

A beautiful looking car; a mixture of brash, flamboyant styling in the detail and restrained elegance in the body design - a true classic.
The 70 Coronet/Super Bee are my favorite body style, after that is the 70 Roadrunner and then 70 Charger.
I love seeing all kinds of old cars being resurrected
Miss the days of the Roach Coach stopping by the shop. 🤗
JFK64 Kennedy. Sorry for the late respond. Vasili, and thanks for watching.
no issues, get you're a busy man
These videos are well made... Great angles, smooth editing.
Remember that 440 Nick rebuilt? The one that leaked from the block?
I've been there, done that.
A little known 440 block, the truck/motorhome block.
It's reinforced at the side wall on the block between the freeze plugs, and has
"Hourglass shaped" water passages on the deck.

Art and science in perfect balance! Keep it coming, Nick! Watching your work is a real pleasure! 😎
Nick you always seem to have a smile on your face, that's lovely to see.
And it's nice to see the Ratchet being used :)
Nick. At least give a shout out to the guy who sent you the ratchet. :) And keep the great videos coming!
This was a good episode
When I was building my Dad's engine for the Imperial, he drove my 71 Charger.
It hooked him good with 6 pack fever.
It set up using a 440 with the 6 pack.
Back then (1979) the 6 pack was a difficult set up, very few people could get it to work properly.

My dad loved it.
"Just keep it under 3500 rpm Pops, and keep your foot out of it" (he never did)
I set up his "Ipm" the same way.

He never sold THAT car.
The way of the muscle car will never die.

Tom Miano. It is good to see a Father love a Muscle car.
I can't wait to see the cornet when it's finished that restoration looked right on the money
I wish I was close enough to visit this great shop . Thanks for sharing all the great videos.
I look forward to more !

Nick, you are an incredibly talented mechanic! I wish you lived in my neck of the woods. ;)

Johnny Zonta. Thanks for every time you come to the shop and lend a hand.
Beautiful...it literally brought tears to my eyes it's so nice, I miss my Roadrunners. Well done.

That’s cool, ‘Philippine canteen’.

Albean Octavian. I have a few comments that I am like Al Pacino.
This is so beautiful.
Some of these parts reminds me of when I worked in the parts plant in Newark Delaware in the early 70's
Waited for this one, -70 Coronet R/T is back in business. Great job Nick, as always !!
I had a 1970 Charger R/T w 440 growing up. Plum Crazy with black vinyl top. Wish I kept it.
Robert Kessier. I wish you still had it. Now that you are grown up, buy one and join the club. Thanks for watching.
Nick Panaritis thanks for the encouragement. Maybe I can make it happen.
I miss the days of when the gut truck used to come by and sell their grub. I sure was wanting to see the numbers on the wide band O2 during those pulls. Maybe next time? Looking ahead to the next Nick's Garage video! :-)
NICK'S Garage is one of the baddest places to take care. Of your dream car.
Thanks for another great video!
First time I ever saw a car do a burnout all the way up the street (200+ feet) without power braking was a white convertable coronet like this one, and the motor was a 440 with 2 four barrel carbs, smoke was so thick you couldn't see the other side of the road, and so loud the ground rumbled.
Nice videos guys I really enjoy them.
The worst part of this video was trying to find my leisure suit to go with the disco music! :-) Great vid as always!
When Nick was under the front of the car in the lift, and was pointing out things that were rite and wrong, kinda struck me like the Lord and his deciples, Nick being the Lord of Mopars and all brands
Pontiac GP73. Thanks.
Best Muscle car Video's on TH-cam.
Hey Nick another great video !
Most gratifying such a rare classic as the R/T convertible is being lavished such time effort and money.
Great job Nick!
I totally understand i have owned my own shop. I will call first. Keep the great work my friend
Nice job Nick and guys!
An engine built by the Best.
The folks at Nicks Garage.

Nice Shelby on the lift there...
I would just about work in this place for free.
Cool episode, as always. And real cool soundtrack...;)
Finally, another video!! Great job nick. Keep up the good work👍
Nick...you seem to be avoiding 383 Mopars. I'd love to see a slightly modified one on the dyno some day.
I, too, would like to see a good 383 build and see what you could get out of it for a reasonable street motor.
$50 for a MoPar replica oil filter?....W O W !!!......that's Mercedes Benz parts territory!
What a great TH-cam channel... Nick and crew are the best...
The Creator. Thank you very much.
+Nick Panaritis hes not talking about you
Some other ‘Nick’?
are you guys the same person?
Nick Panaritis is the ‘Nick’ in Nick’s Garage. Yes sir.
nick is the man

Good job getting 431 out of that 375 factory go 440
Well... maybe a little bit of something happened inside that ‘factory appearing’ engine. Wink wink.
Nick's Garage let me take another listen and see if I can tell
I'd consider moving to Canadia if I could get a JOB @ Nicks.
in joy the video
You really don't have to speak any certain language. Once you See, and Feel, and Hear a Big Mopar, well it speaks for itself.
I would believe, that the Vroom, Vroom sound and feel, of going through the RPM, and HP bands would be the same in any language!?!
The universal language. Right you are.
I see you guys speak 440. Is that a 6pak accent I hear?
Gordon G. Stay tuned, there is a 440 six pack almost ready for the Dyno.
Well,well....classy music to back up a classic! Just for info Nick, do you allow visitors to come by and see the shop? You can't do anything yourself so living in your mother's basement gives you plenty of time to go around posting negative responses to greatness? Get a life. Get off your backside and do something. Help other people for once instead of looking for free handouts from Mom and everyone else.
I wonder if it will make the same power with the edelbrock carb ?
Rickey N. It practically made the same power and torque. We had it tested the following day. The torque stayed the same of 521, and 3 more H.P. for a total of 434. Thanks for watching.
Is there a reason why you don't bother hooking up the vacuum advance line? Can full advance be had without the vacuum advance being hooked up??
A KB. I have used it lately to tune part throttle and idle. At full throttle there is no vacuum at the vacuum advance, It is rare that I work with port vacuum.
I thought about it after I posted the question and your right...
I noticed that you like to use the orange HI-temp silicone for exhaust gaskets. For a header system would you recommend gaskets with the orange silicone for sealing the headers to the head??
With open headers and that giant funnel on the carb do you need to tune the car different when it has it's regular intake and exhaust?
DaveBuilds. On the dyno, we figure what timing is needed, air/fuel ratio, carb sizes, and we always test the engine with the clients intake manifold. After installed in the car, we fine tune it with what ever the car has.
that original oil filter filters out 12 microns smaller than the same FRAM filter for the 440 way better choice !!!
Yeah! That's what I' talking about!
