Intriguing, lovable Venice. Snow, I am always amazed when you give us information, like a tour guide, of the historical, geographical, and economic interests of places you are seeing! You have such an excellent memory, not to have to use a script as you are talking!!!
Happy Valentine's Day Snow and Curt 💕 what a wonderful and romantic way to spend the day! I think i would have gotten whiplash riding in the water taxi, there was so much to see. The video you took in the square with, I think pigeons flying all around you both was a really cool shot! It was a very unique and artistic. I hope you both are enjoying a romantic day together in Venice. Safe travels, 🤗🇨🇦
Just think, Snow - a little over a year ago you were close to losing your life. You would have never experienced this magical unique place! I love that you have been given this time. Good editing, guys - nice musical accompaniment to your ramble in the alleys.
Love traveling with you both via TH-cam. And Snow, you are excellent in explaining the history of the places that you go to. I'm amazed that you're able to learn the history and remember it long enough to explain it to us! You guys are amazing!!
Wow, I’ve not been to Venice and this was the best alternative. I love Snow’s narration of the history of the key areas. I’ve learned so much about the place from your video, many many thanks ❤❤
Venice on Valentine's day what perfect timing. Thanks for taking us to Venice. The small fish is called anchovy (gavros) and it very popular in all the Mediterranean sea.❤
Love your Videos on Venice I went there too as it was on my bucket list thanks for the interesting facts Snow enjoying your Europe trip Cheers Dianne Australia
We used to have a really small, rectangular propane Coleman grill. It folded up to a bit larger than an athletic shoe box. Curt needs one like that so he can buy fresh fish & grill it outside the van.
Love your channel. Started watching when you were in South America. I am not that interested in Europe. You make it so interesting. The history that you explained. Thanks
Venetian wells - a bizarre concept for a city constructed on water.... the wells are actually built to collect and store rainwater, and the rich/ruling families in the medieval/renaissance periods were granted benefits by the government for donating (more like funding/financing) the wells. There was about 600 of them, and currently about 150, but a waterworks was built at the start of the 20th Century and drinking water is piped across from the mainland. Lots of really interesting info out there for anyone interested in looking it all up!
N we toured Italy in 1980 our guide told us to watch for 3 B's on the water taxis. Bags, Boobs n Bums. And true to form it happened. But the guy got a good backward kick from me. 😅
Fantastic video again. For me a very long time ago I was in Venice. In the winter it's better to visit, less tourists. I was there in a summer and Marcos square was then full of tables and chairs. I love your trip in Europe. As always ❤🇬🇷
I loved Venice. I was there in 2014 and stayed 3 nights and I would love to go back. Arriving by train, it was amazing, the scenery looked like rural Ontario in Canada and then like magic, there it was, Venice in all her glory, so magnificent. Enjoy your day Snow and Curt and lots of love from Canada. ❤
I laughed out loud at the "photo" bomber! Thank you for sharing all your research and knowledge of the wonderful places you visit. I love to learn, and learning from you is just fine for me!
Absolutely gorgeous filming and documentary of this beautiful historical sinking city. Loved it! ❤ Because of the rising water and the structural way it was built. It's predicted that it'll be totally submerged by 2100. So you're very lucky to see this all before it disappears.
What a beautiful city. I hope it can be saved. The thing that I wonder about when I see these structures built hundreds, if not thousands, of years ago, is how were they able to construct them.
What a treat for Valentines Day, Venice, how spectacular!! I so look forward to watching to see where your next journey is, and I Love hearing the History of different places, so Thank You for taking us along!! ❤Happy Valentines Day Snow & Curt❤ Blessings Always 💕
If you are going to be back in the region of Venice during your several year stay in Europe definetly visit the Murano island with all the 1000 of years handcraft stations especially the manblown glass shops. So impressive, unique in the world and so beautiful...the famous Venice glass. I know guys ...Europe is expensive and there is only so much you can do in one day. Just a tip if you might be back in the region.
Visit Murano and Burano, also, to see their wonderful colorful houses. You, too, should have taken the elevator up the tower in St. Mark's Square to see the city from above. Kisses and hugs.
agree - can't believe they are only spending the day! Why not a week though it's cold now there are less tourists. One of the natural wonders of the world a city to walk and get lost in.
Thank you so very Much for the Amazing Videos you both are sharing with us. They are so good. It's just like being there and walking with you both. The Music is also the Best. Thank you Both and continue enjoying every moment. ❤❤❤
Tears of gratitude for my husband who planned our trips. Twice to Venice staying first in oldest hotel then modern apartment. So many steps. You need time for museums and the Basilica and bridge of sighs into dungeons. We were in the other bell tower when bell rang. Challenging to restrict gelato intake. Did you notice how they hack everything away from artichokes? Two outer islands are famous for glass and other for lace. I didn’t know how very special the whole place is. Really best to be there at night besides early morning. The long reed brooms held horizontally to sweep ‘streets’ . That was evolutionary for me. Cool thick chenille ropes hang in grocery store doorways to keep bugs out. The outer islands have bright building boats and doorway curtains. Worth the time. Thanks for churning up sweetest memories.
My favorite city in the world! Hope you guys enjoyed it as much as we have on our visits there. It's so unique, you can't really absorb all of the glory that is Venice in one day. It's magical, just magical! And the Venitian tapas are called cicchetti. You need to go back and try them! One of our favorite things to do in Venice.
Great video. We were there in 2015 and loved everything about Venice. We did do a gondola ride and our driver could have been a movie star. I remember there was a group of young women in our gondola, all trying to get his attention and one wanted to jump over board so he would go rescue her - but her friends held her back - they were hilarious.
Venice was a favourite for my Friend Linda. She visited twice and has since passed away. I enjoyed seeing it and felt like I had the chance to visit too. Thank you for sharing.
Venice is so magical - you guys captured it beautifully. It is touristy yes, but at the same time it's one of those places in the world that everyone should see if they can. A one-of-a-kind gem.
I love your videos so much. Snow is a true historian and I love the information that she has researched. Curt loves to hike and it puts me on the edge of my seat sometimes. Good job guys!!!!!
Venice is so beautiful! Enjoyed it all but particularly the info about the masks & carnival. I live in Louisiana and yesterday was Mardi Gras, so… and the food looked so delicious! Happy Continued Travels, you two!
This was fantastic! From the scenery to the food! You both make. Venice look grand! And I think you are smart not to pay the big bucks to go inside when everything outside is so wonderful!!
lol Venice on Valentines Day! What a trip! You should buy that purple cauliflower! I found it for the first time in a market in Mannehiem. It's delicious! Thank you for making my day! Happy Valentines Day to the both of you.
Thank you Snow for always giving us the history of the places you visit, and the wonderful little stories that go with it. I enjoy it when you do this.
It's hard not to fall in love with Venice. We met up with friends who lived there years ago. We walked all the back streets, saw a funeral procession on the main canal and ate lunch in a square with all the other workers. Memories will last a lifetime.
Loved Venus, and the food looks so delicious,it’s snowing here and I just drove on icy roads to get home ,so , this video was just what I needed. Take care guys love from Snowy Alberta Canada 😊
I think the weird looking vegetable with long purple & white stems was either a type of Radichio, Chicoria, or Arugala. And yes, cabbage comes in Dutch flat, regular round and Cone shape.
How fascinating! I want to read so much about Venice now! That clock...the capture of the pigeons flying into the camera even. A lovely video, on Valentine's Day too..how sweet. Thank you..
I have always wanted to go to Venice. Thank you Snow and Curt for taking me there. It was spectacular. May God bless you and keep you safe. Missed the kitties.
Happy Valentines Day ❤ ! Now that was very lovely, so glad you made it to that beautiful, unique, romantic and historic (another interesting narration by Snow) City. In a couple months it will be bustling, nice you got to visit off season before the crowds pour in.
I wanted to stay there for another day. I fell in love with Venice! I’d love to know his people live there and how people with mobility disabilities get around. Thank you so very much for choosing Venice as a visiting place. Bet you needed quite a rest after walking all day. Sleep well for another days adventure💖
As a Venetian I must respectfully correct you. You are not on a Taxi (they are tiny individual boats) you’re traveling on a vaporette. Also there is another very famous bridge (perhaps more famous) call the bridge of sighs (last place prisoners see before being executed.
Hey I found you guys researching van builds and van life overseas. So I've seen random videos here and there. Today I just chanced upon Snows medical crisis that started in Argentina. Just want to say I've come to love you guys. Snow it seems like you're doing pretty darn good. I will keep positive vibes and prayers for your vibrant health and longevity. Curt you are one hell of a guy! You two are awesome.
Again, another wonderful video that reminds me why I subscribed a long time back! I love these with all the information for the armchair travelers. Thank you so much!
