I love your videos they’re always so so helpful. For written events, what software would you recommend for creating the written entry paper? Thank you!
Thanks! I really think Canva is an easy tool. Your teacher can get Canva premium for free, and then you can link to that account. It's a cheap way to use a pretty awesome tool.
Thanks for the feedback. I remember my first year as a DECA advisor. It was so hard. This week marks three full years on TH-cam. In my fourth year I would like to provide more help to new advisors and chapters. If you are interested in helping to shape that, I'd love to hear your thoughts on what could be successful. My email is DECA.goat@gmail.com.
Hi! Please Please post more for this DECA season! your videos HAVE helped me TREMENDOUSLY My goal is to go to ICDC last year my first year after watching your videos I became almost a ICDC qualifier but still a State Finalist. Please post more about FCE and consulting events
Thanks for the comment. I am glad you find some of this content helpful. For the consulting events, since the topic changes yearly, doing exceptionally well on the cluster exam is really something you can master. Also, general presentation tips are key. Working on these two items will help you get to the ICDC stage, regardless of the topic content that year. Good luck!
I usually do roleplays but I’m interested in prepare ahead events, does everybody need a poster or can u just use a slideshow on a laptop? What do the judges prefer?
Some competitors do both, yes. I personally think it creates too many things for your judge to pay attention to. I'd say about 10% of competitors do this.

Thank you! Your videos are so helpful to all of us rookie advisors and members! :)

Try super glue just on the edge to glue the posters to the foam board!
Very helpful video!
Thanks. I haven't really publicized this one yet. I just wanted to get the ideas into a video before the end of the school year.

Judges prefer seeing a comfortable and thorough presentation and seeing YOUR best. Choose which format shows you off the best.
Hi!! I have been watching your videos and I wanted to ask if is it suggested to have both a poster board and also a computer presentation?
Some competitors do both, yes. I personally think it creates too many things for your judge to pay attention to. I'd say about 10% of competitors do this.
Do you have any tips on the research events?
I've been thinking a lot about making a few videos on that this summer but I haven't yet. I'll dive into those here shortly.
When you say that your kids on average had 4 signs do you mean that they each had 4 different parts to their presentation each on a separate poster?
I am actually preparing for my first year of Deca. Can I email you some questions I have
Certainly. My email is decagoat@gmail.com
