    When welding thick steel, give it some preheat first. Will all cool at same time and have less chance of cracking.

    Music is very subjective, to be honest I enjoy your videos but the loud headbanger music does take away from the content, they would be more enjoyable without it. Thank you for posting this video.

    I would prefer to pressure wash the bucket good and clean. If your machine is powerful enough to damage the bucket I would of course weld up what needs repaired but I'd also reinforce that area of the side of the bucket where it meets the bottom inside with another layer of hardox. A new cutting edge might be in order and of course hard facing is always a must.
    I've worked in deep underground mines and ran muckers (loaders) and slushers and within months the rock wears them away to a thin state.

    • @AFHProjects
      @AFHProjects 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the comment! I didn't had the washer there. This bucket is not getting so intense and hard usage. I think its ok for our needs for a while.

    If you preheat it, the welds will soak in a lot more evenly. Awesome job though

    LOL, I fought through the music. If you noticed where you ground there was porosity in the metal, not good. I would not have chosen mig, stick is better and the gusset should have over lapped the joint imo so three welds had to be made 1 through the ground out crack joining the bucket to the gusset behind it, then weld the two outside edges of the gusset directly to the virgin area of the bucket. All this, JMO

      The question is how strong it is, after all, when working with the tractor, the pressure of the bucket is 100 times stronger, and every blow that is made has a crack or a serious hole.

    Den håller nog länge.. 😉
    Måste köra med högre effekt, blir väldigt dålig inträngning att köra homogen tråd med kortbåge i så grovt material.
    Hade varit ett betydligt bättre val att köra med pinne, bottna med OK 48.00 och fylla med OK 33.80 😊

  • @colt10mmsecurity68

    Fail unfortunately. 1) No preheat. That job requires preheat. 2) Your mig welds looked to be too cold. Some of the weld looked like “rope” which is an indication of being too cold. 3) The huge crack on the side of the bucket needed to be drilled out BEFORE welding. You didn’t do that and just welded over the crack. It will crack again. 4) The music was terrible. My wife though the neighbors dog was in heat again.

    • @AFHProjects
      @AFHProjects 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Good and professional story. One good thing about that if you upload a bad welding video is that you going to be a good welder after reading the comments. 😃 I think that weld was enough in that case. First couple welds are going to heat that thing up. I'm not a welder... but bucket works again. Trying to do better next time.
