So while actual reasoning of war from soviet side was done (move Finland borders from Leningrad), more practical was to put end to this war ASAP. And, what about casualties, well, Mannerheim line was nothing to joke about and bruteforcing it was a really-really bad idea.

@No One I'm saying that the Soviet kinda screwed themselves by attacking in the first place, they lost 200k soldiers many of which were officers and made Finland an enemy who would later help that Nazis in the invasion, the border did somewhat helps the Soviets but had the opposite effect it was intended to have, being to keep the Finns out of the war and limiting the number of fronts they had to fight.
