More actual than ever. This song was written and performend as an answer to the russian invasion of the crimea peninsula in 2014. The western world should have reacted much with much more force to that. The result of hesitation has lead to this war, raging on for more than 2 years, by now (2024). Given everything that has happened since my birthday in Ukraine (yes, Russia invaded the night of my birthday, 23 February!), if I could, I would nominate this song as the national anthem of Ukraine. How anyone could not feel some comraderie with Ukraine right now, and not support their efforts to push Russia back within their own borders, and defeat Putin, I don't know. Originally meant for the Tartars of Crimea, I think this song holds so much more meaning for Ukraine as a whole. It is why I say, slava Ukrayini! Heroyam slava! 🇺🇦

Actually, it was written during the Russian incursion into Crimea....it just fits perfectly now.

This was the very first song I heard from Ignea, and I immediately fell in love at first listen. Now they are in my top favorite bands of all time.
