    Erica, this is one of your best tutorials! The train case is so cute and so doable. I’ve been looking to make a bag/case that is quilted (foam interfacing) with the raw edges bound - I don’t like raw edges. Thanks so much for this tutorial - I will be making one or two or three! Always love seeing Jax, too!

    How many bags can we make from each package of the fusible foam? Do we need a package per project?

    • @erica_arndt
      @erica_arndt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The fusible foam comes in different sizes and of course it depends on the size of bag you’re making as well.

    • @Coffeedrinker291
      @Coffeedrinker291 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@erica_arndt of course I haven’t made any yet obviously since I’m still at the asking questions stage…but which size do you think would be easier for a beginner? If I end up being good at it I’d like to make maybe 5 or so…so I’d like to know how much of the foam to buy, and the most economical way to do it:)

    Are you no longer recommending the Panasonic iron? I see you have Oliso irons back in your suggestions. Thank you!

    • @erica_arndt
      @erica_arndt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do like the Panasonic as well, but it did stop getting as hot after about a year of hard use. I still miss the cordless feature of that iron. But I prefer the Oliso now, mainly due to its weight which seems to help create flatter seams in my opinion. It also has all of the features too, steam, spray, auto-off, and I like that it sits face down (raising and lowering as needed) so I don't have to worry about the kids and I burning ourselves. :)

    had fun making my first retro train case, but I had the hardest time with the binding, it never layed ( did I spell the correctly?) right, I ended up turning it wrong side out and hand stitching it down. Any tips or tricks on getting the binding to look as nice as yours?

    • @erica_arndt
      @erica_arndt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure to do bias binding so it stretches around the curves easier.

    • @erica_arndt
      @erica_arndt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can definitely use waterproof canvas, the vinyl might not hold it's shape very well, but you can probably use it if you have a heavier weight vinyl. It just might not stand up on it's own as well.
