Lets Chat! Do you track your monthly spending? if so, have you had a month where you didn’t make any “unnecessary” purchases?

I'll get the conversation started...like I mentioned in the video, I try to keep track of my spending but have *NEVER* had a month where I didn't buy at least 1 "unnecessary" item. I wish I could but there always seems to be something that happens that breaks my no spend month. Maybe sometime in 2025?!?!?! 🤔

This is such a “social media” and/or American thing! Aussie here - never heard anyone doing “no spend” until very recently and it all seems to have stemmed from US creators. I honestly don’t know how I feel about it because there’s something really privileged about it. That might not be the right word but it just doesn’t sit well with me 😬

Thanks for responding! Do you notice anything else that American's do that are strange to you in Australia (not just specific to planning)? This is one of the reasons I love YT and interacting with people...something that I think is totally normal makes no sense to someone else.

@@heidisplanning oh that might be quite the Pandora’s Box you’re opening there 🤣 The short answer is EVERYTHING 😝 There are some really great TikToks by Americans who have moved to Aus (and other places like Europe) that are great. They deal with little things like coffee quality to big things like pewpews. Culturally we have traditionally been a bit more “for the good of all” rather than “it’s all about me” and that can be a big difference. But if you want a little peek into us can I recommend looking on YT for videos called “RBT Australia”? That was something my US friends couldn’t believe 🤣

You’ve solved a mystery for me! Just finished my first “proper” week in my first ever Cousin (just went back to work after the Xmas break) and I marked my work hours the same way you do with marker but I couldn’t remember where I saw that 😂 Thanks for the inspo! You’ve been one of my go to creators for functional planning 😊
