Honestly, by Toughou reworking standards, that would be low tier. There are songs with 3 or 4 originals reaching back before getting to the actual songs that ZUN wrote.
I don't know why, but i imagine this as a concert in Gensokyo, where a teen-looking Flan sings this with a metal band conformed by all the other Scarlet Devil Mansion girls (Flandre in the vocals, Remilia in the guitar, Meiling in the bass, Sakuya in the drums, Koakuma in the keyboard and Patchouli using her magic to play all the orchestra instruments at once).

I'm a sucker for characters with a lot of work put into them, and somewhere between researching the origins of Okina's hat and reading up about the ways she has subtle connections to almost every single faction in the entire Touhou Project, I got over my childish "ZUN's canon donut steel set on trying to replace Yukari-sama" phase and recognized her as possibly one of the most significant characters to date, to the extent that I'm currently having a hard time believing that ZUN hasn't been setting things up for her eventual reveal ever since Imperishable Night and was spending the last 15 years lowkey anxious but also kinda hoping that people would notice the hints about Daikokuten/Okuninushi/Bishamonten/Kawakatsu's eventual reveal... But even if he _didn't_ plan this out from the get-go, the fact still remains that he _could not_ have picked a better god representing Gensoukyou's sages.

This song is the absolute musical embodiment of MADNESS. Chaotic, uncontrollable, agressive madness. Achieved by the extreme contrast between heavy power metal and that innocent little girl's voice and through playing different thatn the usual keys on the piano.
In various segments this piece of art resembles schizophrenia, in others - multiple personality disorder. 10/10 masterpiece. Perfect blend between music, voice and sounds. Everytime I hear this song it gives me shivers. This is the definition of art! Thank you for creating it! Never before I have been both so mesmerized and frightened by the emotion a song conveys!

I love how the beginning is about how Flandre ravenously feeding, even though in-universe, she actually super bad at feeding herself. As most targets (barring Marisa and Reimu) that she attacks end up getting absolutely obliterated by her sheer power, leaving most of their blood splattered everywhere and unsuited for consumption
This is one of my absolute favorite Touhou remixes just because wearing it with headphones/earbuds is such a treat. If you do the Remilia one too I could die happy.

It's fairly simple: Touhou is a doujin project originating as a series of shmup games that have a few fighting game and manga spinoffs... What does it mean that it's a "doujin project"? It means that ZUN, the Touhou Project's creator, basically created Touhou in order to inspire fan creations without commercializing the project, like an indie title focused on creatively inspiring its fandom community. And _boy_ did he succeed: There's currently more than a full terrabyte of Touhou fan remixes, dozens of fangames, handfulls of entire fanime episodes, more fanart and manga than you can shake a stick at and the list goes on and fuggin' on, with a steadily growing and creatively active fandom community that dates back to the 1990's. The reason for this success is ZUN's own amateurish presentation: He has great character designs and you can easily tell apart each and every one of his characters just from their silhouettes, but he is a bad artist with poor execution, which compels people of greater artistic talent to do his designs justice. The characters' personalities are similarily very bare-bones, being given a few core traits but leaving the rest up to the fans' interpretations. The plots range from being rather silly to outright cataclysmic (but still with a lighthearted element to them) and serve more as a way to introduce characters, flesh out the setting and the motives/personalities of some characters, or as an excuse for ZUN to address or bring attention to something that's been on his inebriated mind lately (e.g., the dangers of nuclear power, life and death and mortality, Japan's cultural refusal to address discrimination) rather than push a narrative, so there's plenty of fanfiction potential there. As for the music, well, ZUN is physically incapable of composing anything but _fucking great_ music, buuut he produces it all on kinda dinky synthesizers, the result being tracks that just _beg_ for getting remixed and/or orchestrated. Also, on the topic of ZUN's music, do you know what that motherfucker has, that we all wish we had, but none of us actually have? The setting of the Touhou Project is Gensoukyou, a pocket dimension located somewhere in Japan that acts as a nature reserve for beings and phenomena that we, in our secular world, no longer believe in and/or no longer fear, resulting in them losing their place and ability to exist in the world outside of Gensoukyou. However, with a bunch of immensly powerful, supremely old and very bored fairfolk, monsters, gods and youkai all sharing the same general livingspace, "peace and quiet" becomes a highly transitory expression, and so it comes down to the local incident resolvers, youkai exterminators and, for a given value of the word, "heroes" to deal with the monsters who get too rowdy and ptotect the human village. These "heroes" are the lazy, greedy, perpetually flat broke and simple-minded but completely broken-tier shrine maiden, Reimu, the last of the Hakurei bloodline and Gensoukyou's warden, and Marisa Kirisame, local -nurse- -shrine maiden- -magical girl- ordinary witch and kleptomanic mythomaniac. They sometimes also have help from guest characters and the like... However, since Gensoukyou is a nature reserve for monsters, and its relatively few human residents are vital to Gensoukyou's continued existence, The Spell Card rules were put in place: a non-lethal, bullet hell duel system that focused on beauty and symbolism rather than brute force and power. This allowed even the weak to stand a chance against the horrifically powerful and allowed monsters to wreck havoc and do their power plays for influence and territory without having to worry about the possibility of getting killed by the heroes once they showed up at the scene... oh yeah, and it also provided the heroes with some much-needed work safety for when they have to go up against horrifically powerful fairfolk, monsters, gods and youkai.
tl;dr: Touhou is pretty cool and you should totally check it out some time, if only for the great fandom content.

Hmm, where to start, huh? I mean, I think that's a person-to-person kinda question. Personally, I started out visiting image boards and noticing that there were some characters that popped up in, like, _a lot_ of fanart... so little hipster me concluded that these characters must've come from some huge mainstream franchise that was _way_ too popular for a discerning person like me, and I was busy reading this brand new manga series that no-one knew about called "Naruto"... Then I ended up checking out Touhou anyway and, wouldn't you know it, I had already been listening to Touhou music remixes for about 2 years already by then. And if there's a lesson worth learning from that I suppose it is that you can't go wrong with starting at the Touhou music scene.
If you were to ask me for music recommendations then I'd say that, as far as the category "English Touhou songs/artists for newcomers" goes, Lyrica Live is top priority. Not only are her lyrics really good, (though she sticks with largely unedited music ripped straight from the games,) the texts also serve as really good introductions to the characters the music themes belong to as well. So it's basically a two-for-one "nice songs" and "get to know the cast" combined package.
Aside from that, I'd mostly recommend music videos ranging from the meme-y to the creepy so, y'know, apologies for that: "Neko Miko Reimu", "Convictor Yamaxanadu", "Wakasagihime's 100 Sushi Topping Game", "Cirno's Perfect Math Class", "Kero 9 Destiny", "Tewi! EienTewi", "Nitori no Uta", "Tiny Little Adiantum", "YU-MU", "Bad Apple" (I personally recommend the OG, RichaadEB's cover ft. Cristina Vee, and the Electro Swing collab remix by The Musical Ghost, OR3O, and adrisaurus), "Unable to do Anything but Sing", "Adieu, to this Lively Graveyard", "The Spirit Puppet, Or Rather Her Love And Resuscitation", "Necromantic", "HELLOHELL", "Who Killed U.N.Owen", "Endless Reverse", "Sweet Little Sister", "A Flameless Dance Does Not Equal A Cycle".
(I'm not including any eurobeat stuff here, mostly because I figure that recommending Touhou eurobeat stuff to you would be kinda like recommending water to a fish: You're probably already swimming in it.)
If you want to try out some games, there's first of all the official shmup games -- though bullet hell games are obviously a niche genre that not everyone can get into... But if you can get into them, then I also recommend the "Fantastic Danmaku Festival" fangames. (In fact, I'd recommend you to check Touhou shmup playthroughs here on YT even if you're NOT into bullet hell games yourself.) Aside from the shmup games, there are also official fighting games: "Immaterial and Missing Power", "Scarlet Weather Rhapsody" and the "Hisoutensoku" expansion, as well as "Hopeless Masquerade", "Urban Legend in Limbo" and "Antinomy of Common Flowers"... For fangames, I recommend "New Super Marisa Land", "Mystical Chain", "Shoot Shoot Nitori", "Mystia's Izakaya", the "Fantasy Maiden Wars" series, "Koumajou Densetsu: Scarlet Symphony", "Koumajou Densetsu II: Stranger's Requiem" and "Luna Nights".
If you want to read a Touhou manga or a hundred, there's plenty of that stuff over on Dynasty Scans -- both fan-made doujin works as well as official Touhou manga series. I do, of course, recommend the official manga by default, but there are plenty of creators with different styles and visions worth checking out. Personal SFW author recommendations: Karaagetarou, DYNAMO, Millet Soup, Morino Hon, Minakata Sunao, Yakumi Sarai (a.k.a., Zounose), and I also recommend you to check out "Inquiry about Kazami Yuuka" by Potato Pot (though you probably need to read that story on Danbooru).
Aaand if you want to check out some Touhou fanime series, then see if you can find "Musou Kakyou: A Summer Day's Dream", "Memories of Phantasm" and "Sealed Esoteric History". I also recommend you to check out minusT's 3d animated works and I strongly recommend you to check those out in chronological order -- gives you a better appreciation for how much better minusT has become at animating over time... Otherwise, just run a TH-cam search for "touhou pv" and you should be able to get your fill. ^^
