Thanks for the summary.
As I have seen now in various other videos, your hatches are moving on the field when you push them.
The RM Elementary rules, section 3 underneath the pictures for waste and hatch state "Please note, that the ship hatches on the yellow and green ship are fixed on the field (see
General Rules, chapter 6)."
Rule 6.7 from the general rules is "If game objects must be fixed on the game field, the organizers decide on the material to fix the objects unless the game rules specify it differently. For example, double sided tape or hook-and-loop tape."
We first overlooked this as well and only saw this detail on the third read of the rules.
This can make a huge difference for strategies to open the hatch.
