The amount of style low-tiers have is insane! You've made me want to pick up Piccolo, along with Buu, Base Vegeta, Teen Gohan, Yamcha, Android 17, and any other character you've made a guide on! In my opinion, combos are the coolest thing in fighting games, so I hope you keep making high-quality guides like this!
Piccolo is high tier, Yamcha is probably the best anchor in game, base Vegeta is a top 3 character, Tohan is likely somewhere around top 5, Kid Buu is top 3... 17 is the only outlier there lmao.
@@Inflitrator I only had one problem tho :P Could you maybe like make it so that it showes in the left side what buttons you are pressing? Cause only with the notations, i kinda get confused it seems like your doing 3-5 jumps in one combo with piccolo... Idunno how to explain the jump thing but it seems like either your character is flying higher while attacking or you have multiple jumps... i know that you can jump cancel, but in general everyone has like 1 jump, after leaving the ground, so im kinda confused why piccolo can reach such a hight?! Im rly new to the game tho you should know xP
I could do that but the only issue is I don't want the screen to get too muddled up with different things (which is why I keep my notations at the top). The reason piccolo is getting so high is because I'm delaying my jLs. A property of this game is that when you do the auto combo in the air (jLLL) you're character tracks the height of the opponent so that you get as high as they are. By delaying the jLs you can make the height correction boost you're character up way higher. So I am actually jumping the same number of times as every other character (no character gets extra jumps besides Golden Frieza and Goku Black in a specific combo), I'm just making Piccolo go higher by either super jumping off the ground or delaying my normals in the air.

You shouldn’t mash 5LL, you need to time it and I can’t particularly say what my cue is because I just have it in my muscle memory. Also make sure you get high enough off the air series to make the timing more lenient.

When I super jump forward, I input 6328. Doing 2368 is the same input as a tiger knee, so you're going to be getting the j236 move instead of just a super jump forward.
Which ones? All of them should be universal besides the optimal combo which needs size-specific adjustments (check the pinned comment to see an alternate adjustment for those).
In some combos yes it is necessary. You can’t continue off j214M without getting high enough so the superjump is necessary. For the basic combos though you can definitely still do a normal jump, it just gives a bit less corner carry
Can someone please help me I want to really improve in this game but when it comes to combos I really suck I need help with the whole knowing which combos are optimal to know which ones are worth learning thank you.
Check out the pinned comment! You can adjust the timing by holding down the 5H and timing the 236S but the alternate routes in that comment work well too!
@Lord Sasori i can't get that high either. I wish that was a bit more detailed or explained. Edit: I think that the first hits of the Mediums must be done by auto combo. That means using the light's. the light auto move you up. Allowing you to get the extra height. Also a bit of delay needed too.

Is there something I'm missing about the orb link? I am finding that there are a ton of characters that will tech out before the orb connects to continue the combo (for the optimal corner combo). I tried looking at the twitter link from SE Mobster but i cannot figure out how the orb hits gt.
The only jumps I do are notated by jC or by sj. In dbfz doing jLL in the air tracks the opponent’s height, and by delaying them you can gain extra height since it brings you to their height. What I’m doing is delaying my jLs to take advantage of this and get piccolo higher and get more corner carry.
When the letter itself is in the parentheses it’s a whiffed attack. If there’s an (x1) or (x2) it means that’s how many hits of the normal should hit. Since piccolo’s jM hits 2 times, sometimes you need to only let one hit connect or both

The third combo is made easier if you hold down for a fast fall

Who do you currently run?
Honestly everyone meshes well with Piccolo, but for specifics maybe Z Broly, Yamcha, Base Vegeta work great as an example.
I run him with tien(A) And adult Gohan (B)
Teen gohan and hit in that order
