I hit a emerald Roman nemeral 1 relic redemption on my only box I purchased…crazy lucky as I’m never lucky with these hobby boxes. Wondering if I should keep or sell. I wish it was the auto version but still happy Great video
Cool McDavid card with a matching jersey color that's almost covering the entire Oilers logo. Now all we need to do is to photoshop the cap and we get ourselves a Leaf card. (Sorry for the sarcasm, I just can't help myself).
Seasonal sales post release day hype are always the way to go, especially given how many cards they are printing and the excess supply (assuming no market manipulation by distributors).
I absolutely love artifacts!! Such a great product and the value is reasonable, nice Autofacts and macdavid jersey selction souvenirs!! Thanks for sharing 🙏🏼💪🏽👊🏼🤙🏼
Fulton, my favourite era 1996-2000 for wax; those boxes are still insane! when do you expect that the prices will come back down, if ever? Many $100 boxes from these years are still selling for 200-400 dollars:(
The price point won't be pretty. However, the fact that they now include parallels and variants means there will be excess supply where SPA price will come down in the short-term post-release.
Someone can tell me the difference between inner case and masterr case? For example if someone said they got a case of this product, how many boxes is that? And how many boxes would a master case be?
A master case is a full case. Often, cases have two half-case boxes inside, called inners. So if you see on CarboardConnection that a particular case has 20 boxes, the inner is ten. But, even if there is only a single master cardboard box with 20 loose boxes inside, most ppl still refer to half the case as an inner. So, if a master case has ten boxes, say for a higher end product, then the inner by definition is five.
I'm a known set builder. I value all cards. Cards I do move are never through social media queries or negotiation. Outgoing cards are done dispassionately through COMC, my formal monthly #Dryden giveaways, and local donation.
I think the value watch between McDavid and Bedard will be very interesting. To me, Bedard is inflated due to hype right now. That hype is clearly justified for the moment as he is ripping up the league to start his NHL career. BUT, if we get 3-4 years in and McDavid continues to both outscore and outpoint Bedard, will the prices regulate? And what will that regulation look like? Will Bedard drop to below the value of McDavid or will McDavid rise to surpass the current value of Bedard? Based on the supply of both years, I would say that no matter what McDavid should have a higher value than Bedard, even if (and this is a big if) Bedard ends up out scoring McDavid for a couple of seasons. If I had to guess, McDavid’s value is pretty much where it will stay for a while and Bedard will adjust accordingly but who knows! Great video as always!
Great analysis. I still haven't (ever) bought The Cup because I don't (usually) buy hype, absent actual generational talent like Bedard. Hype always subsides in the short to medium term, until boxes deplete and ppl park their money in sure bets. OV didn't sign for many years, which helped him. Now he is mass signing. I don't think he is a particularly popular player purely from a collector/sentimentality vantage point. But his goals chase means outside money will land there. More to the point, I myself did not buy into the Caufield and Kaprizov hype whatsoever. To me, they rang like players-du-jour. CC has upside, but he was simply the focal point of 21/22 as there were not many obvious marquee players. A year later, do ppl still care about CC on a below average team? And KK, while he has a great game, doesn't strike me as someone who will perform year-in year-out. I'd even speculate he could go off the the KHL at some point. Is he a "great"? Not in a New NHL saturated with this much young talent. He's already 26. I doubt he rides up any of the all-time leaderboards, even is he may pull of a few Kucherov years. But, if ppl really card about greatness, wouldn't ppl have hyped Kucherov, Hedman, and Pasta over the latest/greatest? (As an aside, I found it hysterical how much hype Kuzmenko got last year given how high his shooting/conversion percentage was last year. His numbers were untenable and unsustainable. Sure enough, this year he is not even fantasy relevant, as his luck metrics crashed. I wish he were. But he's not.) What I'm saying is: ppl were dropping US $1,250 on The Cup for a below average chance at a KK insert RC (as no one actually hits the true RPA #/99). Those insert cards were $1,500 for a month. A year later: what, $500? Are those endless subset autos even worth that, or maybe $250, when ppl rather collect newer names? To say nothing of Laffy. I know from my COMC traffic that ppl increasingly only want to "invest in" players of the moment. Otherwise Ron Francis would be a $1,000 card as opposed to, say, a $15 card. Cards are penny stocks. This is why I focus on process and still enjoying the "event" of releases. But I agree wholeheartedly. Bedard vs McD will be insightful. But, I believe RCs matter less and less, as higher end tribute RCs can crowd out even RC appeal. Notably when someone like Bedard can sign for 60 more years, and ppl chase newer cooler looking cards and technology.
I love your back ground cards, what a rip I sure enjoy the look of this years design I just don’t know why some cards are so thick when they should not be 😂 great video always appreciate a legend dropping these wicked videos 😉🙏💪
Thanks my friend. I personally am not sure I agree with the premise that a card should be any particular thickness. I mean, most Cup cards are thicker because that's simply the nature of the product, and it draws a more ostentatious crowd. Many ppl find thinner cards flimsier. So, it's just a creative choice, typically defined by the target market. Thicker cards equally make it easier to ensure boxes can't be weighed to reveal the case it. Otherwise, retailers or eBay resellers could keep all the case hit boxes to themselves.
Crew, I'll post my third box tomorrow morning. It was a great box!
by far youre my favourite channel.
There's been something different about Artifacts the past couple of years, but I like it.
Saw a Gretzky auto. Crazy!
I saw the Bedard Team Canada auto pulled on the Imperial Gardens Facebook Group.
That McDavid is beautiful despite the lack of auto.
I’m not sure I’m a fan of the base design. But all the inserts looked nice. Glad you got some good names out of there!
Beautiful mcdavid and nice rip!
Congratulations on the McDavid. Very cool, fun breaks. Those all-star relics of Lemieux and Gretzky are bonkers! #dryden
McDavid saves the day!! Nice hit man.
@Dryden ... how and where can I get some of that MOJO???
LGI
Interesting. Saw someone pull at emerald auto patch 1. Hoping for best with this for your next boxes. #dryden
Really like the card design this year. Great looking acetate!! That Matthews back there looks so good. #dryden

I like the acetate look. I’ll probably pick a couple up if they go on sale

I'm glad the goalie mojo is alive and well. Have a great weekend man! -Matt
Great boxes and awesome to 25 card. #dryden
UD is the best of the best for me!!! Sweet rips!! McDavid is a stud! #dryden

Way after the release day hype and new rookie crop interest subside. Usually there are great summer sales during the off-season.
Decent looking cards. I'm personally going to wait for SP authentic, the only time I'll buy that product because of Bedard. Also Stature is a must.
The price point won't be pretty. However, the fact that they now include parallels and variants means there will be excess supply where SPA price will come down in the short-term post-release.
These cards would look better with a little more foil on the cards. Maybe the other boxes will have a Bedard. #Dryden.
Nice McDavid pull just wish the jersey didn’t cover up the team logo could have been a better design in my opinion #dryden
That was an ok break, but the McDavid was the best hit. Congrats!!!! Keep 'em Coming!!!! #dryden
Bam goalie mojo and a nice Mcdavid!! The leather card looks very cool. Loved the numbered cards, cool break forsure! #DRYDEN
Great video and I would say this was a bust of a break

@@Fultoncards thank you 😎
#dryden yeah boy
What do you do with all the base cards?

Nice 2 box rip n' pull dude!! The McDavid pull at the end was sweet. Thanks dude #DRYDEN
I guess your auto prediction came true, nice Levi, nice McDavid jersey #dryden
I like that Mcdavid jersey card. #dryden
Any interest in selling the Morrissey? He's my PC 😊
