I met a girl right before graduating HS and leaving on a 24 month volunteer mission for my church and fell instantly in love. We couldn’t call so we wrote emails and letters every week. A year after I left she left on a mission as well, so after I got home I had to wait 11 months for her to get home. We ended up going 32 months without seeing each other, only writing emails once a week, sending handwritten letters, and sending videos talking about our week. 3 months after she got home we got married, and this was our wedding song. We waited for each other for over 2.5 years, and no matter how much it hurt I’d do it again because that’s how much I love her. Now in 4 weeks we’ll have our first baby. To anyone that’s out there waiting for someone, you can do it. It’ll be worth it, I promise. Stay strong ❤️

I waited for my Marine, we were just 16 and 19 after being stationed in Okinawa Japan, for a year he eventually left me said he didn’t want me to wait my life on him. But after a year of not talking to me when he could and writing letters he realized how much he needed me as I did him . Here we are 17 years later with 5 beautiful children and a baby on the way we’ve spent much of that 17 year on the phone writing letters and loving one another from a distance.

Jennifer Wilcox , I just love this song I hv ha 5 of my family member army, us marines, air force . they all made it home thank gosh . but, they hv all passed on . waiting on the rest of us to meet up with them again . it's very hard to our family for the longest time . my husband almost made the choice to go in the air force , but, he didn't want to leave me or or 4 children for very long periods of time . I told him we would make it if he decided that he wanted to . but he said no .
but, I found out my cuz signed up 5 yrs ago . I cried everytime he had to leave now my other cuz boyfriend is in it too I cry with her when he leave . I told him he better put a ring on her ring before he leaves in 2 weeks .

Watching couples and family’s live there every day together is the best thing to see but at the same time I don’t/ haven’t had that time in 5 years and still have 2 years to go which I will wait/ make it because we have that bond no matter the distance 😔😘 we got this!! We pray for great cell signal or possibly WiFi lol doesn’t happens always but right is he is in Korea and it’s hard but I know after this long hall(10mths) I’ll have him back and I’ll love/cherish every moment more than ever!! My husband deployed after being married for 5 months and I was 11 weeks pregnant. He was able to skype during the birth and came home to meet his little boy when he was 3 months old. I would wait for that man over and over again. Distance is hard but the homecoming was more magical than I could have ever imagined. Watching him hold his son for the first time melted my heart.

the most heart breaking fact is so many dont wait. my brother went overseas three times. every TIME his wife cheated on him. he came back and begged and pleaded and went to counseling to make it work with her (its how we were raised, marriage is for life) after his final tour he couldnt take it anymore; my eldest brother called me crying saying he tried, he tried so hard but it didnt matter; some times nothing matters. I'm the wife of a US AIRMAN, 3 months into our relationship he was deployed, I waited and I'll wait till my last breath because wherever he goes half my heart goes with him and I wait until he returns to be whole again.

I love the song and the meaning behind it. Military life is hard at times. Saying goodbye to your loved ones, long distance relationships, missing your childs milestones, missing anniversaries, graduations, etc. are just a few of the things we go through. Being in the Army and being stationed overseas away from my family has been extremely difficult but it has truly shown me who is meant to be in my life and who isn't. My wife has been there with me through every goodbye and she has never stopped "waiting for me." Those hard goodbyes make the reunions so much sweeter. As for the video, those of you that haven't served won't completely understand why this video is going to annoy most, if not all veterans and current service members lol. His "uniform" was completely ate up lol. If you're going to do a military style video/movie with people in a military uniform, at least do it right. Like I said, love the song but I'm annoyed with the way they have him wearing the uniform. haha

My Husbands a United States Marine, and has missed the birth of our second child and has missed holidays and birthdays. This song made me feel so many emotions, I am so proud of the man he has become, an amazing roll model for our children. On the days he is not gone for months at a time, he comes home after a 12+ day and is an amazing father and husband. We have been together for 9 years married for 4. Me and my girl have known each other for 5 years and have dated for 3. We've been through some hard shit in our relationship. But all in all we've stuck together and stayed true to each other. I'm shipping out for basic in July. There is no doubt in my mind that she will wait for me and that she will always be there for me.
