I really didn't like this change in the Braxton storylines it should've been something like Johnny Barrett was a long lost brother of Danny's and Casey, Kyle, Heath, Brax, Andy & Josh are all cousins or something. This was when home & away just started to become shit
You have to remember though the Braxton's were responsible for getting the show back on its own two feet after the dismal two years before 2011. Before that, Home and Away had managed to be consistent in terms of characters and stories from 2000 to 2008. When those younger aged characters (i.e. - Matilda, Ric, Casey, Belle) left between 2008 and 2009, it became boring to watch. The amount of time the crew of Home and Away spent on Penn Graham in 2010 (a guest character) was a testament that they didn't know what to do with the regular cast. It was a life-saving decision on Cameron Welsh's behalf to introduce the Braxton's given that the show had never focused on Australian surf gang culture. At times it felt that the show was about Brax, Heath, Casey and Kyle more so than the other regulars around them. Yet again, they weren't going to be Alf Stewart's or Leah Patterson-Baker's who have gone into the record books for being long-serving soap opera characters. I do hope that Addario does revitalise the show soon because she did such a great job in overseeing the Braxton storyboards.
