Parents should let their children choose their partners in life. They can advise them , but the decision should be the children. Some parents are too greedy for wealth which leads them to selling their children to the highest bidders. Poor nneka has blood on her hands in order to save her own life. This is such a very educational story with lots of lessons.

This cultural thing about PRIDE PRICE/DARI needs to be banished forever. It promotes greed as opposed to love and happiness. Parents should never be allowed to chose a husband or wife for their children, this is dangerous in my humble
opinion. Parents are greedily accepting pride price for their daughters to the detriment of their daughters lives. At what cost
do you raise your children to be brutally bullies, their self esteem taken away and death is your biggest wish to escape
matridom or hell on earth. Parents who are still practising such deeds should be charged. Well, her mother was happy
to have Taly as her son in law now that he stood up with her daughter and her in their time of need. Now she forget that he is from a different tribe. How convenient?
