My routine is like this: grab the bounties and start completing them, while pay attention to the HL posts in shadow chat. Join any h8 HL groups as fast as you can, they'll be full in a few seconds. After you complete your 8 daily bounties, grab the shadow contract and 3 side quests and do them. Always jump into HL teams even it means you have to abandon your current quest. By the time you finish all of these and you still haven't capped the 9+9 lair gems, then find a zone and start a HL tour. I can remember all the lair locations in Realm, Stormpoint and the desert, so I usually run these three maps. Kill everything in your path especially the elite ones. Join other players' HL team as well if they pop up. Keep doing this until both bound/unbound greyed out in HL. Then start doing your shadow stuff like vault and bg. Then some boosted dungeon runs. Around assembly time find some clan members and do a tower run if you're still far from that 12 gem cap. After that you can call it a day or do whatever you like. I believe this is a very efficient way of getting normal gems and leggos. I don't ever need to do OW farming, whether solo or in a team, because I've already got lots of leggos everyday.
Great tips and thank you for sharing! For those in an active clan, I would suggest that an alternative to overworld farming is to do 4-man Tower Runs. Due to very high elite density (and occasional boss spawns), they are ridiculously efficient for drops, XP, and most importantly unbound gems!
100% this. It usually takes around 30 min to cap the 12 gems from a full group tower run. If you have already gotten a few from all the HL runs and some dungeon runs, then it'll be even faster.
You said "we" but don't think you mentioned that you need a full 4 man party for unbound gems to drop. You're running around solo in the video so people may wonder why gems don't drop.

Grinding accursed tower with a group seems to be the fastest way to get unbound gems for me. Takes around 30 mins to get all for the day.

Only reason I don't go to Tower because I play with is from different clans. So, the open world suits us better.

@@AppleHocamm You need to be in clan first, and then your clan needs to own a tower. After you can go there and get rewards.
What's the deal with hidden lairs? When you are down to one last gem to grind.. They rip you off up to 3x without giving the last one.

I did mention you need a group of 4. I just recorded this after I was done farming.
@@ApollyonGaming solo farming should give you gem I think blizzard should reconsider in the future update.
