    Have you any suggestions or thoughts on Tolkien's non-Middle Earth work (say the Arthurian legend, Beowulf, etc.?

      Why would you collect a german version of the novel if you don't speak any german? I have it and almost read the first part. Not german myself, but spanish.

      Your english accent did not give me the impression that you were not a german, but I knew I was daring myself to get this answer, so maybe I am wrong. Meine Entschuldigung! I find awesome that you can learn other languages with only this book. Same with me with german.
