I never knew there were different levels of curls or anything. Every barber shop should definitely have one black hair specialist. I always wondered when I was growing up, my black mates would always get their hair done by family members instead of just getting a cut at school. Black hair is so amzingly complex.

I’ve tried to get a silk press twice and I’m convinced that either both beauticians didn’t know what they were doing or my hair just isn’t built for it. My hair reverted back as soon as I walked out the shop both times. Plus it had no body or movement to it whatsoever 🙄 I have 4B/4C hair and it’s fine when straightened, I’ve seen women with my hair type get slayed in the salon on TH-cam so I know it’s possible!
