    I can already see 1 problem with this bike the way the lower rear swingarm mounts to the frame I can see rocks getting jammed in between the frame and swingarm when the rear shock fully extends.

      I guess that short rear fender is there to prevent this. I had no issues, but who knows, let's see...

    What is bottom bracket height? Any pedal strikes?

      None, on either of the bikes. Merida didn't state the BBH. But the SL has a BB drop of 27.5 mm, that should translate to a BB height of around 345-348 mm, depending on tyre width. I wouldn't say that's particularily low for 160 mm rear travel, but I don't mind a low BB.

      Cool. Not very high for a 180 mm travel frame, but it didn't strike me as particularily low either.
