26:41 pretty much described the vaporwave scene, egg punk scene and the growing incelcore scene, there's still regional rock scenes in the UK. There's a post-punk revival all around right now, but yeah the more decentralized internet scenes seem to be the future.
I picked up the early "Live at CBGBs" double album and, at the time, was kind of put off by how diverse the scene was. I had rigid expectations. I did try to follow The Shirts a bit and still have a British copy of their first album on blue vinyl. The band that I wanted to see make it off that album was The Laughing Dogs, who went on to record a couple of albums (the second one "Meet Their Makers" has such a GREAT cover) but their records suffered from pretty rotten production and they wound up in the used bins really quickly. I loved their take on power pop and I still have their albums.
Loved that he mentioned The Shirts! Had me flipping through the collection to find the LP that contained this little gem! th-cam.com/video/ZegQ56PwfQ0/w-d-xo.html

I saw the burned stave church in Norway and it was the saddest thing.
Lenny Kaye talks brilliantly.
I really think that 'David Reaches Behind And Pulls Out Another Random Record', should be a regular feature. Or of course 'DRBAPOARR' for short.
Wonderful thank you.
What an interesting guy.... Intelligent, open-minded, refreshing. Would like to know a bit more about Patti Smith though!
One of the best shows ever....a real NUGGET...🥰
