Nice, I hope you'll love having them. We started with a flock of 6 old dorper ewes and have since used them to breed a smaller sheep better suited to our smallholding. We bought a Harlequin Mini Meat Sheep ram, which is also a hair breed, and have bred to that standard. The size difference is incredible and they are much easier for us to manage. I often say I was born to be a shepherd but didn't realise that fact until far too late in life (I became a lawyer instead). Lambs being born on our place was the point at which we determined to call our little place a 'farm' instead of 'the block of land'. It is a wonderful experience, as I'm sure you'll find out soon enough.
I know we are so so soooo excited they are so much fun 😊 we have 4 that are in lamb we believe. One got barbers pole ...ug-hhh but survived so unsure about her . She is gaining weight back now so that is a good sign too ... Where abouts is your place ? They are nice looking sheep. I do hope the alpaca in question is a wether and not an intact male. Intact males will mate with anything and due to their anatomy and the mechanics of alpaca physiology they can often seriously injure or kill ewes.
It's over on the neighbours side it looked like it was coming after our girls so I said respite is over and booted him bk over the fence ! Grrrr stupid thing
