Splintered dev here - it's unreal to see Splintered featured in a list like this! Thank you so much for checking out the demo and I appreciate the spotlight you give to smaller indie devs like myself.
i totally agree. mostly wayyyy too many roguelikes. its like every other game is roguelike in the indie scene. but hey im just someone who absolutely hates roguelikes so ye lol.
No kidding. I like rogue-lites, but there definitely are way too many of them. And way too many non-souls games are adopting the souls-like difficulty, rogue-lites and metroidvania are getting pretty unnecessarily hard. "Afterimage", "Astral Blade - the awakening", "Momodora V"... does every indie game have to be brutally difficult?
I hope I'm not the only person here who really appreciates amount of games that have demos. I love trying the game out before buying, and it also makes me hyped about the game instead of just watching the trailer
2600 games!! 😰Thanks for your hard work Clemmy ! Flora and Fang definitely gives Mario Bros audio inspiration to it. Totally missed Spy Drops, thanks for spotlighting that !
I've been saving videos to watch later now because I can't keep up. I usually open the steam page as I watch your videos and the website is blocked at work lmao. Keep up the good work, man! I'll probably comb through these on a weekend.
Lonely mountain: snow riders is my favourite game so far. You can push for high scores and whatnot OR you can just chill down the slopes. It has so much more freedom in finding your own path compared to the previous mountain bike game. Looks really good too. Definitely a day 1 purchase for me.
I watched all of the earlier videos, but now that I have a day free, this was helpful for leafing through the full library. Gonna see if I can find time for Lovish, Rift of the Necrodancer, Splintered, To Kill a God, and Wings of Endless, though there were many others that looks great, too.
So, like a year and a half ago I was screaming about Balatro, and I'm sure Ballionaire and StarVaders will (deservedly) dominate 2025, but out of the ~50 demos I've played so far the one that absolutely blew me away is Chroma Zero. It's basically a mix of Antichamber and Outer Wilds, with some Fract OSC vibes. A big open puzzle box / metroidbrainia (knowledge based progression) where you can figure stuff out before they're officially hinted at because the internal logic of the systems are that strong. It's a little difficult to get into at first, but stick with it, trust me. Afaik it's unknown and I've haven't seen anyone mention this outside of a puzzle game list, but even then it didn't seem like it was given enough time. It deserves to find an audience.
Thank you for going through these games. I have your vid on while I'm doing other things and then when I hear or see something that interests me, I can check it out e.g. Knights in Tight Spaces. I would never had heard of it or come across it without your vid. So, thank you for your dedication, it matters and help gamers like me, to find games that I will enjoy.
Oh good, ONLY 100....I'll clear my calendar for the next week lol. Seriously though, thanks for putting this together. I had already tried a few of them - including Chrono Sword (combat was a little clunky but loved the art style), Cursebane (great) and Steam Punks (meh) - but now have lots more to add to my list! BTW Windblown is awesome.
Trying out AI Limit it is HEAVILY Code Vein inspired. Loved Code Vein, which has one of the best character custimzations ever, unfortunately doesn't seem to transfer but the parry and backstab is just as satisfying.
Thanks for this list. Unless I missed it, I'm surprised The Precinct isn't in this list. The short demo, which is like a vertical slice of sorts and seems polished for being listed as an alpha, may be more deserving than many of the projects on this extensive list.
action roguelikes/lites im generally tuned out of now due to skul litterally destroying my buttons. Since if its a complete button mash fest your device's life expectancy drops from a few years to a few weeks. i still somewhat enjoy the other kinds of roguelikes/lites but i generally get bored of them after i beat them a couple of times since there isn't much to them after that.
You're doing good work, son. Keep it up! Love from South Africa. Edit 1: We call it bubble tea here. Edit 2: TFT is doing great, bar none the best auto-battler out there. Developer actually plays it's own game regularly, so of course it's fun...
The only demo I've enjoyed on this Next Fest is "The Silent Kingdom". I've gotten saturated with all the roguelite and souls-like stuff. And frankly, too many horror games too.
Splintered dev here - it's unreal to see Splintered featured in a list like this! Thank you so much for checking out the demo and I appreciate the spotlight you give to smaller indie devs like myself.
He literally just listed 100s of demos 💀
@@goodguymarioyou just can’t let people express thanks or be happy aye? And he didn’t list 100s of demos. That means 200, 300 and so on…..
congrats on your game... looking forward to it!
@@goodguymario You clearly don't know how many demos there are
I love you Style already wishlisted it after that was mentioned here
thanks for making these! I’m convinced your work is helping out the indie scene as a whole, keep it up!
Thanks for mentioning Rogue Labyrinth again. At 41:44 🎉
No worries!
That Mandragora demo really got me. I'm really waiting to see the final version.
Hot take: there are too darn many souls-like and rogue-like/rogue-lite games.
i totally agree. mostly wayyyy too many roguelikes. its like every other game is roguelike in the indie scene. but hey im just someone who absolutely hates roguelikes so ye lol.
You forgot Deck-builders.
Unfortunately, there are too many of them and, unfortunately, few of them are truly well-developed and high-quality.

@@RoadKamelot2ndAfterimage is hard? That game is really easy unless you met high level bosses too early.

OMG the amount of demos you covered.
And here I thought me covering 70plus was good enough.
Congrats on making it through this pile of demos! Have a relaxing weekend.
Thank you so much for including Atomic Owl in this video! We really hope you enjoyed the demo if you played 🦉💜
you're welcome
2600 games!! 😰Thanks for your hard work Clemmy ! Flora and Fang definitely gives Mario Bros audio inspiration to it. Totally missed Spy Drops, thanks for spotlighting that !
Love all the variety! Wish everyone success!
Thanks for your amazing work, Clemmy! The indie scene is better with you!
Hey thanks for including my game Tower of Madness in the video 😄
No problem 😊
cool to see Axe Ghost in your round-up, thanks! 2:45
Great video! I really liked this ones too:
- Doomsday Hunters
- Kill the Crows
- Fleshinshane
- Undead West
I know you're not a big horror fan, but can you post an indie horror video for halloween? 😊
I'm participating in Next Fest with a pixel art horror demo called Babette. Check it out if you're interested :)

I love this video so much! Thanks for getting everything together for us!
Thanks! Just installed 4 demos that I had no idea existed. Gonna give em a try tomorrow :D
Awesome! Hope you enjoy them

love all the videos you've been popping up! gratz on your channel growing too

Decline's Drop dropped this week and I'm checking out the demo. Looks like a DKC platformer with Smash combat. Take a look if you can.
57:44 Thanks for Featuring "The Void Project"
splintered looks like the one for me. dicealot reminds me of slice and dice which i like... so will try it too. thx

you are insane dude, I haven't even watched the video but I'm sure you'll have done an amazing job highlighting cool games to check out, cheers!
I appreciate that!
Wonderful selection, many interesting titles. Thank you for refreshment!
In the US, boba and bubbletea are both used, although boba is more common.
Trying out AI Limit it is HEAVILY Code Vein inspired.

I'll buy Button Man because it takes place in Nova Scotia, Canada, where I live. I recognize some of the landmarks in the game.

Thank you for the mention !
There is a game called "Bullet Runner" that has a demo. Full game is out in November
I love this channel so much. Saves me from having to scroll through steam pages lol
Kingdom's Deck is the best game on this list
You should check out Swashbuckler's Xmas! It's a fun recount of a pirate captain's time running around the north pole told by his aging parrot!
thanks for doing the dirty work
Damn what a long video (hurray!). I wonder why the chapters don't appear upon upload with the rest of the video.
Nice work!!!!!
How did you miss Ari Buktu….
for me, games like miglorn fall into the "paper mario" style...
Is there a way to sort the next fest demos by those with achievements?
awesome been looking for a good list dont know current fest is it because its end year fest that its has few bangers to easily spot
Thank you for this!

Will we ever receive The Last Night...?
1 hour of Celerypaints5360 being called out 🤣
World's Worst Handyman.
I identify way too much with that game.
you forgot Cyclopean
I'm VEEEEERRYYY hesitant to use Steam.
Thanks for having the SPELLHACK!! demo on the list! I agree with the other commenters on how great your work is for all indie devs!
The Stone of Madness and Sultan's Game? Check them out
thx :)
So sick of rogue likes and roguelites.
Please... enough of.. souls... like... ugh... p-please...
Is enough , enough 😭
Whats the game on the thumb nail ?
Somber Echoes its in the video

Tired of these rogue lite games 😢
Thanks for checking out our game, big appreciate 😊

Please split this video in 5 pieces...
well...

"Flora & Fang" reminds of my beloved childish game called Bubble Bobble, love it :)

a bit yeah!
